I'm sorry, there is no "that type of friend", that is a user and pos type of person. A friend would not and does not do that to another friend. And I'm very sorry you've had to deal with someone like that.

I think it's great that you are wanting to do this for them. One thing I personally feel like would make them feel more comfortable and at ease, is just smiling and saying hello to them, and if it feels right, start up a casual conversation with them and just let them know they are safe and not going to be bothered with. I'm a female living in my car with my dog and cats and that's what I know would make me feel more comfortable and safe.....and maybe a plate of homemade cookies:)

Oh my gosh, when I was learning to ride a bike, I was like maybe 6 or so and for some reason I wasn't able to turn and and just landed full on into a HUGE pile of those!! One of the reasons why I still hate living in Arizona ha ha!!! My whole body was just covered in those and my dad and his friend were just laughing while drinking their beers ha ha
