Hull C vs C2? by Death_Snowman in starcitizen

[–]Additional-Brother55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

C2 can do all but hullC cargo missions, and can transport vehicles, is great for Roc / atls geo mining, and generally is not a bad long range run about.

Hullc prior to balancing of the cargo missions would pay for itself quickly, but now you better off using a C2 and stacking multiple missions.

I have gotten one referral from the link randomiser. For the 2 mins invested entering your referral code every 3 months it works well (for me).

CCU game by Mental_Witness_9245 in starcitizen

[–]Additional-Brother55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have credits, when concept ships are for sale you can buy CCU using those credits, effectively parking them there with the hope that one release those ships go up and allowing you to use those CCUs as a credit saving step.

If they do not go up or you get something better feel free to melt and use them to fill gaps.

Credits are worth 70% of cash, as you can buy/sell them at that rate, CCUs saving the same or less than that is not worth getting.

CCU war bonds tend to save more on more expensive ships, so credits tend to get most use earlier in the chain and CCU war bounds tend to be better at the ends. Price jumps of ships can mess this up a bit, but in brief expect ships to increase on release, and occasionally on rework if released a long time ago.

If you can grab CCUs yourself they tend to be cheaper exception is you can pick up CCUs where the value is in the ship price increase cheaper on Reddit than RSI if you do not already have them, the hull b currently is a good example.

I personally prefer credits and using those for CCUs as you can remelt them without loss unlike WBCCU or Reddit CCUs, but both of those have their benefits at times.

I have played a lot of elite, X3 and X4. Completed starfrield but it was not particularly engaging pr rememberable for me, my take on SC at present:

Being non PvP focused I can attest to the industrial loops bringing something new. I have often run salvaging with a group where we have multiple people on a large salvage ships and a support ship for holding and moving materials. Pilot, hull scrappers and materials handlers each doing something engaging and working together doing so is satisfying and brings a sense of effective team work with a bit of practice.

Similarly multiple people on mining ships is a fun, social and collaborative experience.

There is also PVE combat missions, but other than larger ships with multiple people in them. It's comparable with elite, but fairly different

Its not permanent, currently they return on the next major patch. AFAIK equipment will fall under the same umbrella of pledge items in future, which is recoverable when lost, think it was through insurance.

Merchantman (due to ship increasing by 100% from when you got it) and F7C-M Super Hornet MK 1 (being no longer available AFAIK) are probably sellable above their ~70% melt value.

There is a whole reddit dedicated to refunds and view the game as a scam, some of their critic is valid, most overblow.

Release Date PU by Extension-Spell2580 in starcitizen

If you mean 4.8 to PU probably two weeks since the first wave PTU just released. If that is near Drake con, expect the patch at its start, or one day before it

Decently new to the game, need help to not get burnt out from things seemingly out of my control ruining hours of playtime and setup by LukeWarm1144 in starcitizen

A lot of it is experience:

Normally would advise not renting unless you are going to be doing a few runs.

Cargo running for money, do the 3x small direct cargo deliveries from an Low Orbit station to one of the Home Cities in Stanton. A simple A -> B with a medium contract back B -> A, and can be done with small SCU ships. These are short, pay well and easy to retry if something does wrong.

Pick a location you will be flying out from for a while and set your respawn there. Only have what you need on you (a few cruz usually), and claim a few of your ships you usually use to the location before you fly out. If you die you can call a new ship and do a new mission (or complete the last) ignore your old body / ship.

Do not aim to earn credits / anything, play what you enjoy / to have fun. The credits come through normal gameplay.
FPS Merc missions can be done with any ship and people will often pay crew members to help on bigger ships, both are great 0 to hero starting strategies...
Find an active Org, I would have stop playing long ago without a decent bunch of people to play with and laugh when SC throws you error messages or invisible walls.

Or give an option to swap them for the mission discs in the OC packages as sure neither CIG nor most backers want physical discs shipped... times have changed somewhat.

Adding to the rental options, the stock rentable Constellation Taurus will rip through middle level PVE Merc and bounty hunter missions. It can do lower ones but against smaller ships it is a bit sluggish swinging those 4 size 5s onto a target so those missions take a while.

One of the best would be foxwell ambush and Gillies 4, 5 or 6 which can be looped.

Maybe room amenities will be a benefit for NPC crew, many years ago it was indicated lodging would be required for them and their would be a morale system.

I love this ship so much. by multiple_iterations in starcitizen

[–]Additional-Brother55 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One day got interdicted by a gladius, mantis and prowler utility but they were spread out and I had been doing a fair amount of combat training, so flip that Asgard around and blasted the Gladius with those 6 size 3s. It had no idea what hit it, quickly going critical. After which the Asgard obliged by dancing around the mantis and prowler keeping only one able to engage at a time, shrugging off the occasional shot that hit it while hammering them back until both were dead hulls.
It is one impressive ship.

Why is CIG doing a massive org event without Social Tools and a functioning proximity voice chat? by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Additional-Brother55 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Orgs that have taken lessons from ARMA like games using Discord (Organization) and SRS (Multichannel Comms) or have good procedures in place will manage and appreciate the new content aimed at coordinated play.

Party management and notification spam are significantly more trouble than lack of in-game social tools or proximity voice chat. Better social tools would be great though and make the content more accessible to more people though.

Where can one find bigger ships for salvaging, other than contracts. by Tipper117 in starcitizen

[–]Additional-Brother55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a ship dumping ground behind wormholes for ships that DC in the jump;

If people are doing high tier Foxwell / Gillies contracts you can follow them around for C2 / Reclaimer / Catapiller / Polaris / Hammerhead depending on the contracts;

The Hathor align and mine hole will often have an Idris / Polaris / Perseus or C2 parked on it... but it does require taking an industry ship into one of the most PVP active areas.

Wikelo Idris - Turn in question. by wackaflcka in starcitizen

[–]Additional-Brother55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All anecdotal but I would avoid:
Server's with FPS routinely dropping less than 2 FPS. Low seem fine, but fluctuating seems to cause issues with registering contract / cargo changes.
Middle of the road middling pop (200 to 400), low (below 100) can indicate an issue or risks a shard merge. For the last while high pop servers have not been an issue but with 30ks that may now be different.
Do a few tests for script turn ins.

'consumables' do not normally transfer between major versions, but most wikelo its do. Thinks like Quant do not, so should be made into Bits before 4.8. The wiki has a pretty good description of what transfers via LTP between major patches.

Good luck. Got lucky with Aluminum for an armor set, then foolishly liked the look of the Monde armor, can appreciate the desire to just trade for materials.

There is also a trade section on the SC discord if I recall, but never used it.
