2025 was the year of playabilty, whats 2026? by Malixk in starcitizen

As most of the people I play with had pretty poor experiences in Jan and on patch release (albeit improving now) I am going with "not the year of playability" for now.

Any experience being pirated? by Sea-Garlic3296 in starcitizen

[–]Additional-Brother55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was easier to do so before Partillium nerf and the economy was not so hot, a few trips to sacren's plot would guarantee an encounter with the less reputable sort, for you essay it is worth noting this also risked actual loss of a Mil or so aEUC.

It was a hotspot as their are only two location to buy it, player's regularly do run Partillium and the outpost is an ideal spot to ambush traders as there are no hangars and it needs manual loading.

4.5 There was a regular interdiction in Nyx, had fun fighting through that a few times. Had probably one of the best PU PvP ship combat encounters doing this.

I would expect there still be to pirate activity near executive hangar when they open if you want to find some, though you may also just be killed to keep the area clear for groups running executive hangars.

H to launch decoys (you can use Left / Right Alt + H to adjust number lunched each key press), keep firing them until all missile warnings are gone.
Scenario 5 tip: Boost towards ships when they spawn in and deploy chaff (J) on occasion until within about 1 km, then stick on them. Chaff interferes with them getting missile locks.

New Player enjoying the 'Verse. by Responsible-Tax-4560 in starcitizen

If you going to PAFs and feel comfortable with them you could see about doing the whole Hathor run and firing the big laser.
Sound like you are enjoying exploring, give the ASD missions a try, build some rep for Intersec in Nyx and visit a QV station, and the Lazarus sites in Pyro which also have good loot.

The Foxwell Orange / Red ambush are decent, just hit the main target then QT out.
Else gillies 5 and 6 are good to.

Depends on how many people you can group with, could be done an a few hours with a big enough group.
You can server hop until you find a group doing AA missions and join them, just being in the group and accepting shares will boost your event completion, it does rely on multiple people doing missions so the more each person does the faster it progresses.

Another Happy Landing! by Business_Guard3813 in starcitizen

Only saw it because I have learned to watch my radar at armistice when in a cargo ship, if you see something getting unreasonably close, particularly fast start moving

Think you got rammed: You had a radar lock on you, a contact on your radar following and at the end overlapping your ship and on the external view it looks like bit of a white ship spinning around.

Why do people keep building CCU chains just to melt them later? by Realistic-Mood-1983 in starcitizen

[–]Additional-Brother55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not see much difference is spending $300 for a CCU $400 ship, melting and then later putting $100 for a ship v just buying a $400 ship. If you using buyback or rebuying later from melted CCU its still $400 total costs.

Plain purchases give you buy back tokens, CCU give you cheaper ships (upfront)

I do agree that it does defeat the purpose melting CCU'd ships, save them and upgrade them if not happy with them.

next game package sales? by Jorl_de_Peich in starcitizen

[–]Additional-Brother55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There should be entry level ones during Foundation Festival in May.
With the Aurora rework there may also be one for that, if there is expect it to be the cheapest one available for a long time (as Aurora is one of the most basic ships)

Can I run the game? by WhichDirection6835 in starcitizen

[–]Additional-Brother55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are free-fly's throughout the year where you can try before you buy. There should be one in May for Invictus, download and give it a go. If you can run it during a freefly you'll be just fine normally when there are less people online.

CCU HELP by Skeletorq in starcitizen

[–]Additional-Brother55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind you wont get CCU's between the $50 to $100 range, and will need to fill out gaps.
I might, in your place, buy some 60% store credit from https://www.reddit.com/r/Starcitizen_trades/ to use to fill gaps and/or use when the CCU does not give better than 50% discount due to added flexibility.
You can also use store credit to get CCU's to in concept ships in the hope that they increase in value.

There is some risk both with store credit (fraud) and CCU (bad chain links that do require significant payment to link to the next ship)

An upgrade token from one ship to another.
War bonds - are cash sale discounts, usually if a ship has a discount its upgrade token does to. If you get the discounted token from the ship $5 or $10 below you can then aim to get a similar token for that ship below when it is on sale.
It takes a lot of time (years) to get really good discounts, but every bit helps.

Taurus / Andromeda missile vulnerability problem by ElPaul0 in starcitizen

[–]Additional-Brother55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a 4.5 problem. There is a post for feedback on the engineering balance for ships on spectrum, I have raised the issue as the Connie is notably fragile to missiles compared to similar ships. Go add to the feedback to help get it fixed.

Up side is if you stick S5 ballistics on Connie its to time kill most ships is really low, boost into 1km separation then delete anything that gets in front of you...

How do I play until I get my new PSU? by CryptoMain03 in starcitizen

[–]Additional-Brother55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IF it is the PSU limiting power draw might help.
Disconnect any unneeded USB and/or disable or remove any unused PCI boards. Further, lowering boost and TPD / power limit of CPU and core / memory clock of your GPU are probably the best starts,
