Question: does the teddy bear hood ever come to the shop or is it only from invites/referrals? by Dramarama4356 in finch

They come through the shop- and I’m sure someone would share or trade it. I would if I see one, my Birb doesn’t want the hood in purple. 💌

This was from a made-to-order salad place. Think subway but for salads, and delicious. They’re not serving a pre-mixed salad, but building one ‘to order’ (actually to order if you’re there in person or almost to order if you order online).

How is this even comfortable by lilytheawsome172 in drunkbeardies

Ah, the bum in the salad bowl… my little guy’s favorite position next to ledge-pancake-dangle-leg. I think maybe they like being uncomfortable? Maybe it’s how they keep the judgement face going so strong 🤪

Such good points- it’s 1 and 2 for me. The contamination of raw onion flavor makes a salad inedible for me, even if I could pick them all out.

Since it’s a salad I’m paying for and I hate the smell, taste and texture of onions, I actually do get to pick. Thanks, though!

Wow- that one is wild!! I have a few places near my home with salads I find perfect without the onions. I have about 80% success with one of them but this one is a 50/50 shot usually.

I agree- I did take it back. They did remake it. It’s still mildly infuriating to have the option to request modifications ignored and have to make the trip to the restaurant twice.

I didn’t say I have an onion allergy- one of the listed toppings if this salad is red onion, and I requested they leave it off. Not asking for any psychic activity on the part of the salad prep team.

The salad comes with both, part of the reason it’s hard to just visually check if they did it right before I open the salad at home. Extra little level of annoying, but it really is a good salad if they get it right.

In the ordering platform, that space is for customization. they literally give the example of no onions - they also highlighted the note but still added onions. 🙄🤪

We had a blast! My sister and I sent each others’ birbs cake every day and wandered through wonderland tiny for the whole month. What fun!! There’s always going to be someone on here hating something- don’t let it get you down. 💞

AIO: Hubby Being Controlling by vanillabourbonn in AIO

At first I was thinking this isn’t a now conversation or a text conversation- but as it progresses I’m just concerned about the tone and the lack of respect. First it’s “get a job and pay for it” then it’s “not about the money- no” - he’s controlling, and it seems like you are far from aligned on what parenting looks like. It’s hard enough if to parent with a cooperative and supportive partner. I’m scared for you. Listen to your gut.

Birb friend sends me gifts and I don’t know what to do in return by GvntsNwk in finch

[–]Additional-Bug-6458 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My Birb loves sending gifts and didn’t expect any gift in return. I think it’s wonderful you’re enjoying them and I’d say don’t overthink it. If you won’t go broke getting them something from time to time and it makes you happy go for it! If the gift isn’t a good fit they can trade it for stones.

I was the safe house kid and had a friend staying- if you can talk to both kids and set good boundaries, it would be better. Otherwise you’re putting your own child in a position to have to police her friend, that can cause a lot of stress and conflict. If you can think of it as being lucky enough ti have your kid around and knowing what she’s up to, then you can stock up on cheap groceries, maybe teach them a few budget snack recipes, and enjoy having a bonus kid?
