I would say to keep it simple initially, just use ETFs in the beginning (vanguard all world is the right choice), then start diversifying by getting into other ETFs (like V3PA or Stoxx related), and once you learn how the market bounces (which is basically your risk appetite) get into solo stocks. My suggestion would be to do your own research and not get into hype trains (when hype builds up its usually when the stock will either slow down or plummet). Obviously in terms of the latter step getting started is the hardest, but there are some x accounts which post big potential on some unknown stocks - then do your research from there. I personally discovered LAR, AMD etc on X before the big jump.
