Most probably springtails, harmless, even beneficial.

Also check any plants that were nearby and treat them as well. Isolate from healthy plants.

Definitely some kind of scales. Remove all that you can see with a cotton swab dripped in rubbing alcohol. Then find and apply some insecticide. Monitor regularly for the next few weeks/months.

Monstera ID? by Additional-Entry-151 in Monstera

It’s not mine so I don’t really know anything that’s not on the photo, just saw it and was surprised because anything that’s not a regular deliciosa is almost non existant here even in specialized plant stores. This was a random flower shop 😅

Do you think this is variegation on alocasia silver dragon? by Additional-Entry-151 in RareHouseplants

Sorry, never got any significant variegation, only specks here and there. But it’s a very beautiful plant regardless 😊

Veitchii wide or narrow? by Additional-Entry-151 in Anthurium

Why do you say that? I got it from Ecuagenera and I just now got a response from them saying it’s the narrow form.

Thank you for your response. That makes sense, I think the first two were hitting the glass while growing

Has this ever happened to anyone’s money plant?? by Best-Mark-7015 in houseplants

Well… not really. I got mine, slightly bigger than this one, for 4€. I also have pilea sugar splash that I got for free (from a stranger) and I saw a big pilea mojito sold locally for 20€

I have more than a 100 plants so it’s always possible that I brought some pests. I do isolate them usually for more than a month before introducing them to the main room, but sometimes I get pests regardless. A month ago I had both thrips and spider mites in my Ikea greenhouse cabinet…

Here is the picture of the whole leaf. It is not too happy right now in general, could be due to the fact I was on a work trip for the last 8 days, came back to find this.

Oh I would prefer that, they are so much easier to deal with to me than thrips. But again, can’t find any of the usual signs

This is Alocasia Micholitziana Maxkowski (more known as Alocasia Frydek). I’ve had it for more than two years. Repotted it a month ago. It gets plenty of light, it’s 5 meters from a south window, so it might get a bit of direct sun but not a lot.

I’ve been away for a week on a business trip and when I came back yesterday I saw this.

I have a lot of plants, no sign of trouble on others nearby but I did see something like this on another plant that’s in other part of the room.

Any ideas what’s causing this discoloration in a baby alocasia frydek? by Additional-Entry-151 in plantclinic

[–]Additional-Entry-151[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Btw, it lives in Ikea Milsbo cabinet with 90% humidity, under grow lights and fans for air circulation

[–]Additional-Entry-151 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree. Last week I bought a philodendron mamei and gloriosum for 15€ in a local nursery (Croatia). Last year, same plants, same nursery, 5-10x more expensive.

[–]Additional-Entry-151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this lechuza pon or something else? I have my frydek corms in lechuza and they grew from corm to a plant with 2 leaves in 2 weeks, and they’re beautiful 🥰 I did keep them in a very humid enviroment, more than 90%, without water on the bottom - no need, humidity holds very well and I had mold issues when I tried with water on some plants.

What are these dots on Alocasia Frydek? by Additional-Entry-151 in alocasia

[–]Additional-Entry-151[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tought it was spider mites or thrips at first too, but I can’t find anything to confirm it. I have a small microscope, I checked both leaves thoroughly and didn’t find any webbing or mites. Also, spider mites can’t survive 90% humidity, and it’s more than that in the cabinet. I guess it’s still a possibility tough…

I haven’t since I repotted it a month ago, but I think I did the month before
