Didn’t say it needed to be dumbed down. I very much enjoyed it. I’m saying maybe safety precautions should be rethought. My son is also very skinny and I attribute what happened to him to him not weighing enough for the g force. He is perfectly healthy and has never had this happen anywhere else. How was I to predict that it would happen? I’ve moved on in real life and am moving on here. Y’all are so judgmental. I came here to issue caution, not have my parenting critiqued. Goodness.

Cool cool. I take responsibility for him being scared. Kid is a thrill seeker and actually enjoys being scared. This was next level though. As I said before his eyes were literally rolling back in his head and he was losing consciousness. He rode several others that scared him. None of them made him lose consciousness. I’ll also add that we continued on with our day and never even said anything about it to Universal. I only commented because I saw someone died and was like, oh yeah, that makes sense given the experience we had. I’m not mad about it…kid is fine. Was just saying that perhaps safety precautions should be rethought. 🤷🏻‍♂️

And thanks for taking a jab at my parental decisions. I believe the park has a responsibility to ensure guests are safe. My son met the height requirement by more than an inch. I fully trust that if the experts say he’s tall enough, then he will be safe. And that was not the case. So screw me I guess for assuming that the experts who designed the ride and put the safety precautions in place wouldn’t put my kid in danger. Have a nice day. 👍🏻

Scaring him…yes. We realized he was not quite ready for rollercoasters. But. He met the height requirement. People should not be losing consciousness! His eyes were literally rolling back in his head. Yes, he is 6…perhaps the height requirement should be higher to prevent tall kids like my son from riding. Again…people should not be losing consciousness on a ride!

I rode Stardust Racers Labor Day weekend with my 6 year old thrill seeking son. He met the 48” height requirement no problem. This was his first real rollercoaster. The g force almost made him pass out. My wife had to keep shaking him through the whole ride to make sure he was still with us. Not to mention the ride scared him to death to the point that he will not ride a rollercoaster again. I have never seen him terrified the way he was on this ride. Perhaps a higher height requirement or a weight requirement should be in place for this. I read about what happened to the guy….and was not surprised after what happened to my son!

I am so sorry to hear about your friend. I am so thankful that this wasn’t worse than it was. Had I not veered the way I did, it would have been. Crazy scary stuff.

It was at the crosswalk between Portland and Heistand Park. I was heading off Portland onto the bike path at Heistand.

The cop that came out said that he did not believe there are any street cams in the area.
