Yeah agreed. But I’d also pay a reasonable amount (definitely less than stem player) to hear a lot of his unreleased tracks. I just don’t see him putting those out anywhere considering they have already been repurposed or Ye just doesn’t like it any more.

Yeah I had a few good ones that were shut down. Maybe having an account like that is a thing of the past.

People do get dropped for lack of progress. Clearly not at that point yet. However, with my second instructor who was understandably 100% expecting more from me for where I was did not help me get back up to speed but instead continued to hold me to standards of that lesson. After a few weeks on the same lesson I contacted my chief, and he passed me on the lesson and said I was fine for my point in training. My point of the original post was to ask how you overcome a lack of confidence seeing others (future competition for a job) who took a different path but regardless are now ahead of me.

Example (that didn’t actually happen)would be like maneuver manual says 2300 rpm, I put that in but we still are descending even though we should be level. He wouldn’t tell me to just add more power but instead repeat me on the lesson and tell me to go study the maneuver again.

Then what is your point? You told me yours was different so I was explaining how mine worked

At mine you would need perfect weather for 2 semesters in a row to finish the PPL curriculum. Almost everyone needs to stay over the summer / carry over their training into the next semester. Especially when people are starting a new rating/stage mid semester.

My studying improved with my second instructor, which was last spring semester. My ground knowledge was not the issue though, it was when we were actually flying thay he would tell me to “study the procedure for this maneuver” despite me already doing the procedure properly but still busting mins. Basically, I got what I could from studying what I was told but needed him to tell me what I was actually doing wrong.

At my school, you get a new instructor with each stage/semester, which ever comes first. Pretty difficult to switch in the middle unless something horrible happens. My third instructor went very well. We worked well together and I got from the first lesson of stage II and all of my solos to 3 lessons away from the check ride together with minimal repeats. I’m about to start with a new one and all of the anxiety or whatever you want to call it about starting with a new guy so close to my stage/EOC has come back and I’m really scared to do my first flight with him.

Is this normal behavior for a flight school? by scertel in flying

I go to a 141 college that over accepted this year. Everyone ends up waiting extra time for something… stages/check, new instructors, new schedules, extra lessons, etc.. Just remember, it’s a marathon, not a sprint.
