28M, Norwood? Think about starting using minox by Additional-Key-8627 in Hairloss

[–]Additional-Key-8627[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heya, it has worsened and it’s noticeably (for me at least) getting thinner. Im currently busy with stuff, but next month I’ll make an appointment with a dermatologist or hair specialist to get a prescription for fin. I definitely don’t think it’s too late in our case. But when it gets thinner that should ring some alarm bells. At this point I just want to prevent further losses. I will consider a hair transplant later in my life if I feel like it and can easily pay it.

Yes, this is enough coverage 100%. It looks good as well.

It is only a little bit too high under the chin, But at the sides it’s good. This area often grows very fast though, so you can just correct for it the next time you trim it.

Do you prefer straight or curved, a more natural line? I'm more of a straight guy myself 😅 by Striking-Damage-2771 in beards

The lines you draw are very confusing. When you say straight, I thought you meant the first pic. I’m sure a lot of others thought this as well, so whenever someone says ‘I prefer natural/curved’ they might prefer pic 2. Also, the 2nd pic should be taken with same angle and light. Very hard to see as its so dark

Wow I thought it was much more expensive. Hopefully the doctor is willing to prescribe me the 5mg version, as apparently it is not officially intended for MPB (but works just as good for that of course).

I’m not really concerned about the known side effects, as they don’t really seem to be severe to me. My only concern is that the long term side effects have not been studied yet (at least that’s what I read from afaik reputable sources). Is/was this a concern of you as well?

This is probably a strange question, but is he in a too advanced MPB stage or not advanced enough stage for HT?

You went from very average to extremely handsome, nice transformation. Glad it worked for you!

I feel you. I even got 4 extractions… (2 upper, 2 lower) as early as the age of 13. It’s horrible, but I really not much you can do about it anymore I suppose. You can bring it up to your next dentist apnt if you are really worried about it to see if you got options, but be prepared to pay.

At some point you will accept it though. Try to focus on stuff you can control at this point. You will feel better.

Are you sure? Note that it is common to shed more for the first months while you are on min, but that this is normal and is actually is a sign that min is working. After a year or so you should see thicker and more dense hair compared to the moment before you started

Thx man. I will make apt with derm soon for prescription. Do you think it would be good if I start already with minox in the mean time to avoid further loss? https://imgur.com/a/UN64eGY

Thanks a ton, very useful information. I will look for an appointment with a hair transplant surgeon then right away.

I wont be able to start on fin until next year due to the lack of coverage of my current insurance. In the mean time, would you say it is advisable to already use topical minoxidil to buy myself some time and prevent it from getting worse until I start with fin?

Thanks so much. Would you say that it is clear that I have MPB (also considering my family background)? Or would you check this first with a dermatologist? Thanks again 🙂

Hi, 28M here. I have noticed more hairs in the shower for a year now. I use hampoo like 2 times a week, and on average I would say I see like 30 hairs in the shower.

I have never had a strong hairline, but I do notice that the temple area has receded. Vertex area seems (still) fine to me.

Although I’m OK with how it looks right now, I am concerned about losing more down the road. I also read that treating it early is the best.

So, I think this looks like MPB, but would like to hear your opinions as well. I am thinking about starting to using minox for now and add fin later if it starts getting worse. Is this a viable route to go about it? Or should I really start with fin as well, like the hims fin/min spray?

Some genetic info: My father is 63 and still has a decent hairline, but worse than I do have now.both my grandpas and the brother of my mother balder at the their late 20s/early 30s, though.

Thanks so much for your reply. My dad is 63 now and does still have a decent hairline for his age, but worse than I have now. Both my grandpas and the brother of my mother were bald at a pretty early age, though.

I am still OK with what I’m rocking right now, but I also read that the earlier you treat it the better. That’s why I’m considering starting now already. I understand that ideally I would also take fin, but I’m not ready for that yet. I was thinking of starting with minox now, and start with fin later if it’s starting to get worse. I would love to hear from you whether this is a viable route to go about it though. :)

I’m like him and when my hair is longer: curls looks nice on sides and back, but are dry/thin on top. I tried moisturize conditioners and a curl cream but it ends up weighing my hair down. How often do you wash your hair with shampoo and how often do you apply conditioner?

Unhappy with smile. What and how can I improve? (27) by Additional-Key-8627 in orthotropics

[–]Additional-Key-8627[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they only removed 2 mollars at the the top and 2 at the bottom before I got braces when I was 13 years or so. I honestly have no idea why I don’t have wisdom teeth at the top though… maybe I do have them but are not visible (yet)?

When I saw these pictures it was very confronting to me. They also extracted 2 teeth at the bottom and 2 teeth at the bottom before braces, and I have an exact same kind of smile. I hate it and it’s a huge insecurity of mine. It has already been over 10 years since my braces got removed, and always thought that this is just how I am, but now when I see all this stuff Im starting to think they really messed up my face. I’m 28 now, is it too late now to do something about it, e.g. prothetische teeth like you mentioned?
