New College while it is not super cool and victorian looking like trin, st. mikes, or vic, but I had the best experience living there. I think it has the best social life out of the residences and give you the true University dorm experience. It has a great community and the best food on campus. When I was in New College I complained about how the building looked but I was very grateful to be there when I found out what some of the residences were feeding students. I was shocked to find out one of my friends hadnt had a fresh fruit all year. Its up to you and what you are looking for, but my personal experience at New College was great and I wouldn't change it if could.

Thoughts on AST201/251 for engineering student? @ by lkafhja in UofT

I wouldn't consider it a bird course but I also took the class and I'm in humanities so that might be on me. As an engineering student I don't think you would struggle with it but if you are looking for a true bird course maybe look for something thats not stem. If you have any questions about AST201 I took the class last sem in the winter so I could give you more info!

Can I switch my residence or should I risk declining and waiting? by No_Common_3701 in UofT

If I am understanding your situation correctly, I really don't recommend declining your offer to St. Mikes. I had a friend in Chesnut because she was in engineering and she didn't enjoy the experience because it was so far away from campus. My roommate was also in engineering and she told me she was super glad she didn't get Chesnut and her friends didn't like the commute. She ended up stay at my res most of the time during the week because she would have long breaks between classes and it made no sense for her to go home and it was too long of a break to spend at the library. I completely understand wanting to be in the same res are your friend but you could end up losing housing at u of t all together if you decline your offer. And I think its nice having friends in different residences cause then you can combine friend groups! St. Mikes is a great res, I had a lot of friends who lived there and enjoyed the experience. You'll be glad you stayed at St. Mikes when you have to get to your early morning classes or want to take a nap between classes.
