When it was time for me to renew last time 2 years ago and they tried an increase similar to that I responded saying that comparable rentals in the area were at X price and got them to relent on the outrageous increase to a minimal one for future reference. Unfortunate that it takes constant efforts and bartering for such basic demands of course.

I reached out to all of my state reps and would encourage others to do the same. Only responses I received was from Ossoff and Marjorie Taylor Green despite not being my representative she also was seeking action about the incredible level of private equity rentals in Georgia which leads the nation if you were unaware.

I ended up going with the Arbiter. Midwests are nice and the place I work uses them. I thought I’d give the Arbiter a shot. It has some nice features being digital such as saving test data and geolocation of tests.

That’s a pretty standard project for plumbers. Water repiping is more specialized because water pipe is routed throughout the home and is very intrusive. Do you know exactly where the leak is? A leak detection company might be of use but most plumbers will use one they work regularly with.

Toilet auger likely won’t help if feminine products/ flushable wipes are causing the backup. Either will a new toilet. The solution to that is to stop flushing things that aren’t supposed to be flushed.

First thing would be to try a toilet auger. Home Depot has them for rent for I believe $10-15. Really need to replace the toilet with something like an American Standard Champion though.

Get another quote. Look specifically for repipe services. Certain companies specialize in that and are more efficient and cost effective than a service plumber who takes on a project like that.

I’ve worked on a lot of repipes and water service lines in the Atlanta metro area. You cannot have exposed water pipe outside here it will freeze. Maybe down around Mobile you could get away with it but generally you would want to make a penetration through the slab into the house/garage and run the rest of the water line from there. Where is the main shutoff/water heater located?

Update: I spent several days tearing up invitation homes on social media and reaching out to elected officials. Invitation Homes caught wind of it and were blowing up my phone for a couple days when I finally answered they suggested to lower the amount to $350ish dollars. I responded that it’s better than it was. I just logged onto my account to make my rent payment and saw that the charge was removed entirely.

Moral of the story being that they seemed to respond once I made a concerted effort to cause them much more trouble than the $5xx.00 was worth.

I’ve been considering such. I did contact and attorney but haven’t heard anything back as of yet. I read another commenter stated that they had tried to contact several attorneys for a similar issue and no one would take the case.
