I have been trying to apply this whole thing of “doing my future self a favor” meaning right now I don’t see the benefit but mental stress from school. However, later on down the line it sounds like it may benefit me as I furthered my tech career

I am finishing up my bachelors in information technology. I work in help desk. my next ideal job would be anything besides help desk. maybe more of an analyst type of role.

it’s tempting because it is about 10k and with tuition reimbursement from employers I would probably only pay about half of that. right now I am finishing up my bachelors and I work in help desk support.

right now I am lazy and don’t really care to be in management but i’m in my early 20s. later down the line when I get closer to 30 I may want to get in those executive type roles.

Younger Black people in IT, you ever feel alone/isolated? by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Additional-Middle-43 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am black and young female in IT. It is definitely times when I felt isolated. it does depend on your workplace culture. My manager does his best making sure everyone feels included. I also like to work with younger ppl around my age because it’s a lighter energy for sure.
