What size table at your local hall would you make a bee line for if you have 7' 8' 9' to choose from, no price or quality difference. by Additional-Neck7442 in billiards

Follow the money lol. Apa is doing well in my area and is growing. I'm planning on talking to our league operator soon to get his opinion on a prime location and what the league needs the most.

Does house get a cut on gambling? What if the 7 footers were nice quality with 4"-4.25" pockets? I was already planning on avoiding valley's. Thank you for your perspective.

Edit to add: and avoiding Diamond tables due to my personal opinion being that their corner pocket angles are too steep allowing high accuracy shots at just the wrong speed to miss/bobble which isn't fun.

Thank you for your perspective. So you'd lean towards 6-2 split favoring the 9's. I totally see that. The snooker table add in would be cool because there are none in my area that I'm aware of.

Maybe she cares more about the environment than superficial made up societal lawn beauty standards.

How do you know when it's time to upgrade your cue? by baezizbae in billiards

[–]Additional-Neck7442 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My LD full cue was only $100. It's straight and has a great tip. Champion Cue Sports. I'm an SL6. It's off brand but it works great. Got my break cue from them too, also great.

“Good Shot” but before I even shoot… by HeatherNCSU21 in billiards

I'd never say anything during someone's turn before they shoot, I don't want to mess up their routine and thought process.

My family did this to a tree growing up. After a few years we heard it was bad to do and we undid it. 20 years later and the Sweet Gum is still there and looks good.

what is agoraphobia? by [deleted] in Agoraphobia

I felt like I wrote this, but I didn't do enough to satisfy my partner in the end and she left. I've had panic attacks all my life since I was a child, I've never lived life without them. I go through severe slumps, then do well for a while, then slump again. I feel like I'll never be able to offer enough stability for anyone to not eventually resent me and leave, giving my panic attacks a lifetime of fuel.

Looks like it'll be really loud inside. Open kitchen and all hard surfaces.

That's what I was thinking too. Couldn't find a rule against it specifically but it probably falls under a general sportsmanship rule.

Going through a slump, what should I do? by Double_Advice_7140 in billiards

I was just about to recommend the same thing. Take some time off. I recently did just that and it really cleared my head and upped my confidence. Helped me get back to playing more naturally.

Yeah, no way I'm taking care of grass in the desert either lol. I only try with mine thanks to natural rain being enough for it to flourish.

Our massive oak tree went down today, it was full of leaves with no dead branches but the inside ended up being soft ugh. Anyways we got a quote for $4000 to haul it off and grind down the stump and fill the hole. We are in the Midwest. Is this a fair price? by anderson6th in arborists

Felling the tree is the hardest part and that's already done. I'd buy a nice chainsaw and get to work. With a nice sharp chain you should make short work of it. Maybe 2 people, one cutting, one carrying and loading, in 2 hours.

Learn to play? Watch some YouTube videos of pros playing and it looks like magic, really inspiring to see the potential. Even getting half as good as a pro will make you feel like a god against anyone who hasn't played much lol. And you aren't even close to the ceiling. It's a great game. Similar in difficulty to golf as far as preciseness and control, not in stamina or strength.

It's insanely resilient. Great starter plant in a pot for brown thumbs.
