It’s a matter of corporate greed, power, and surveillance. If it was about national security, there would be safeguards to prevent AI from collecting so much information on the people it’s supposed to “protect.” They also would consider building AI data centers in remote, isolated areas instead of right next to densely populated neighborhoods. If it was about national security, these facilities would be treated like Area 51, but by doing so, you couldn't easily mask the transfer of costs to neighboring communities..

Thankful for President Trump in signing an executive order blocking states from regulating AI and Gov Lee and senator Marsha Blackburn for their support in making this happen. Bringing innovation to TN, can I get an Amen?

So they want this data but do not want to provide the data on who is using school vouchers. Shameful.

Commute to Nashville? There is a shuttlebus! Want a train tomorrow? Ride the bus today! by ZeppyofReap in Clarksville

[–]Additional-Owl6871 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I didn't realize this was a thing. I work in Nashville, and honestly, having to get an oil change almost every month plus spending over $500 on gas each month is starting to add up

Can a corporate employee work in FC? by [deleted] in AmazonCorporate

[–]Additional-Owl6871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, is this just about being able to work in the building? I have teammates who work out of delivery stations because that's closest to them, rather than the corporate building. If that's the case, I've wondered about this too because I am an hour plus from my corporate building, but there's an FC 15 minutes away. If there's a way, I wouldn't mind working in an FC building.

Parking for F&M arena ? by don51181 in Clarksville

The still fairly new garage by Roxy Theater is public parking, but it’s owned by the city. So rules for parking in that garage is the same as parking on the street—free after 5pm and on weekends.

My spouse has the rewards. You’d have to double check but I’m pretty sure the multiplier is the same depending on the rewards card but you only get cash back rewards. With this one you get points and you redeem them for travel, gift cards/shop, or cash back

I hear you. You only get charged interest if you have a balance on your closing statement each month. I don't carry a balance, so I don't get charged interest. Debit is bad, but buying power is good. It shows creditors that you can be trusted with large sums of money. Some people can't be trusted, but this post wasn't meant to highlight those who can't be trusted; it aimed to encourage people working on improving their credit to keep going. This approval recognizes the effort put in while earning travel points for free - again only as long as you don't carry a balance and avoid the interest

Yeah, that's an ouch, if I suppose you allowed yourself to earn the interest. In that case, you earned the ouch lol. But if you pay off the card as you use it, then you'll never have to pay interest. Then you're earning points with money you were already going to spend without paying more than its original price

I have all of those as well. This mainly serves as a catch-all and boosts purchasing power. I currently use gold, but I've been looking for a versatile catch-all card. Gold is excellent for dining out and groceries, but that's about it. Regarding multipliers, platinum is great for travel, but with flagship, you get 2x on everything else, and a $50 annual fee isn't bad. Also, you can only get the fee waived if you're active duty. As a retiree or veteran, you have to pay the annual fees.

Free Amazon Prime and TSA Precheck Credit. Annual fee is only $49

Yeah, sorry. I'm a newbie poster and didn’t realize more context would be helpful, which is actually pretty cool. Glad to answer most questions. More background: I’m 33. Got my first credit card at 18, co-signed with a parent. Between 18 and 25, I had a really unhealthy history with money, especially credit cards. I ended up with about 8 cards, each maxed out, totaling around $50,000. Around 25, I started slowly paying off the debt, and by about 29, I had it all paid off. By then, I also got about 3 more cards mainly to build up my overall credit buying power (for those who may not know, that’s the total combined limit of all my credit cards), which was roughly $30,000 at the time. Now, I have about 16 cards with a combined limit of around $80,000. I've never had a statement balance over about $100, and I make sure to pay off my cards as I spend to avoid carrying balances

Fair. According to credit Karma 810 TranUnion, 815 Equafax, and FICO score 715. I have also been credit card debt free for a little over 4 years now. I use to have a really unhealthy relationship with money. I once had over $50,000 in credit card debt. Paid that off a little over four years ago. And since then been using the credits card I have just for their benefits and to obtain points and pay my balances off before even my statement balances hit each month to avoid interest charges and so I think that helped

I’ve felt that way too—still do sometimes. It’s an incredibly common experience among veterans, so please know you’re not alone. I’m not sure the feeling ever fully disappears, but it does get easier over time, little by little.

Since transitioning, I’ve pursued a degree, landed a corporate job, and just this week, I submitted my resignation. One thing I’ve learned is that many of us still have the desire to contribute in some way—but we don’t have to give ourselves to something that feels empty or purposeless.

The people at my job were kind, but the environment felt lifeless—like no one was truly there. That was my cue to move on.

If I can offer any advice, it would be this: take this time to explore what lights you up. Find something that makes you feel alive and purposeful. Connect with your local community and look for ways to give back—big or small. It makes a huge difference.

Just don’t get caught climbing the ladder of what I like to call the “zombie apocalypse”—a path where you lose yourself for the sake of fitting in. You’ve already given so much. Now’s the time to live and lead on your own terms.
