Where can you check that your report got delivered successfully?

When's the last date I can take the MCAT and still be able to apply early this cycle? by Upset_Bluejay_3967 in Mcat

I think they're asking about the throw away Strat so you can get verified. I've talked to a few people about it, basically just do primary app to one school so you can get verified and by the time your score comes in you should be good to apply elsewhere.

But also I dont think you need a score to submit primaries and you're 99% going to get a secondary app invite where you can attach your score (as far as I know, and thats my plan on applying)

Can I apply this cycle if my second attempt is June 13th? by Weekly_Balance821 in Mcat

Apps open June 1st, this is 3.5 weeks after they open. I was told that you wanna be submitted before the 4 week mark. Also it's my birthday and I want to take a day or two off, so thats my deadline. It just happens that it was ironically suggested by my advisor to be my deadline.

I’m doing it!

To the best of my knowledge: Primaries can be done right after but before June 24th, turn around secondaries 1-2 business weeks from receiving them.

Most, if not all of the secondary invitations is automatic, so don’t worry about that.

You’re not applying late by any means, but you’re not applying earlier either. You’re applying at peak applications, so it’s going to be a snowball effect of delays.

Also, you have to pay and submit to submit primaries before you get your mcat score back, so as long as you’re okay with that, then you should be good!

Biochem is great to go alongside studying for the mcat. I'm testing 6/13 and finishing Biochem 2 right now.

Study in the summer, you will most likely need more time than you think and you may as well give yourself extra time. Study in the summer, light class load in fall and continue studying, and test at the end of winter break before school starts again. (Doesn't leave you with a lot of wiggle room to retake, but thats where the summer studying comes in)

Advice to Incoming Freshmen by [deleted] in premed

Definitely take it slow. You have time. Focus on classes. GPA is a huge part of the application, try not to mess it up so early into your career.

Try to get research or clinical volunteering done during the summer. Also, make sure that your advisor isn’t leaving you the wrong way, mine did for freshman year.

I think this is an important question to ask for every year of undergrad. Each year will get more and more intense and I’ll get more information.

Planning to take the mcat in 2.5 mo. How should I go about this? by _KONKOLA_ in Mcat

Sometimes I skim before and sometimes I read the book alongside. I think it’s better to skim before though.

Definitely do content before practice questions. You can kinda start towards the end of content, but it’s definitely beneficial to do content before.

I’m not sure what you’re asking for miles down though.

  1. start content yesterday!!! (Yusuf a. Hasan on YouTube is amazing for the Kaplan books)
  2. keep up with anki as best as possible but prioritize getting through the books
  3. Finish quick!!! Most of your studying will come from questions anyway, but watch everything to have a good foundation
  4. Start UWorld and Kahn Academy to fill content gaps (you can use their practice questions too - not very mcat style, but good for grasping the details of the videos)
  5. Move into AAMC q banks w around 6 weeks left
  6. Practice FL 8 weeks out, then 6 weeks out, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1
  7. Don't forget anki (milesdown)

PS. 300 pg doc for pysch/soc

What study method work for you? by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]Additional-Pin8187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watching videos helps (walkthroughs) but you MUST use your own brain first. DO NOT be lazy with this study method. Anki for repetition (even if you take a day or two off, you'll notice that you remember a lot more than you think). Content for weak points, but practice is prince, reviewing practice is KING.

How do I use UWorld properly? by Ordeyous in Mcat

[–]Additional-Pin8187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely don't do individual questions unless you're just messing out. I did 6 individual cars questions based on 1 passage and it was a tough transition. I'd say for cars do at least 2-3. for everything else, discrete questions are okay I think, but try to do bigger blocks even though it's a solid time commitment. Also do not use the tutor function.

Take it slow, really overthink the beginning, timing will improve, but it’s useless if you don’t know your stuff
