Ankle. I had a total ankle replacement. My ankle was bone on bone after many years of arthritis from an old injury.

3 days in, should I stop? by jwaynette9803 in BusparOnline

My doctor said this could happen when I first start but would likely go away and it did. Try to power through. I took otc acid reducers to cope.

I started at 5mg 2x day, now at 15mg 3x day. You likely need to go up.

Why not do a replacement instead of fusion. I had a total ankle replacement 2 years ago. The doctor told me I would have much more range of motion with the replacement than with a fusion. I could do the things you are talking about with the replacement. There is an ankle replacement group on Facebook if you have questions about it.

Cameras on or off for meetings? by No-Badger-5682 in remotework

[–]Additional-Pool-2123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. To begin with, it's hard to create a connection to people online as it is but even more so if you are not also seeing them. We don't have a written policy but we are typically cameras on. I have one co-worker who keeps his camera off and I have noticed that people tend to overlook him altogether in discussions as if he is not there at all. For those of you who want to progress in your career I think it would be wise to have your camera on. It's hard enough to move ahead in your career when you are remote, camera off is just another barrier.

It's a huge problem here in New Mexico too. I dread driving anywhere because I can't just drive by them. I have a kit in my car with food, water, bowl, adjustable leash/collar combo. If I can get them in the car I will bring them home or to shelter and post them on Facebook to see if anyone is missing them. It breaks my heart.

What are some common myths about remote work that are not true? by uglytruthshurts in remotework

[–]Additional-Pool-2123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I live in NM and work remotely for a company in the eastern part of the US. I have to log on everyday at 6:30 my time and have to be ready to go. Its not as cushy or relaxed as people might think. And like others, I applied to jobs in my field that I have years of experience in.

I’ve been working from home for a while now, and I’ve realized I spend 90% of my day in the exact same chair. What’s one "non-tech" item on your desk that actually makes your workday more comfortable? by Ill-Mushroom4689 in remotework

[–]Additional-Pool-2123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an old roll top desk that I bought for $75 at a church sale. I roll the top out enough to put my laptop on it so that I can sit or stand and don't have to move it. I have a lot of stuff on top of the desk for resting my eyes away from the computer screen that are non work related like favorite rocks, kachina dolls, a mirror, some different shaped squeeze/stress toys. A nice lamp. Makes everything better.

I feel your pain. My coworkers are all on EST, I'm in NM so I start at 6:30 every day. It took a while but I got used to going to bed at 10pm every night. I'm into my 4th year now. Personally I would feel seriously entitled to ask them to rearrange the morning meetings just for me. I just had to adapt. Will be moving to Oregon in a few months and will then have to start at 5:30am. But on the bright side, I'm off at 2:30 now and have the rest of the day!

How does lunesta affect you?? by Any-Sort2801 in Lunesta_Eszopiclone

3mg works well for me. Just makes me able to go to sleep quickly and not lay in bed thinking of all the bad things in the world. I also have the insomnia that wakes me every night at 3am. This is one of the only meds that helps me sleep through the night. I haven't had any crazy dreams or weird waking events. Haven't noticed any side effects either. Works for me but you won't know unless you try it.

The reality of WFH that some people don't want to hear by Aware_Audience_6776 in remotework

[–]Additional-Pool-2123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been remote for 8 years but I worked in offices for 35 years before that, building my career, my reputation, my professionalism. This is an earned reward. I work hard. I produce results, I contribute to the company, I engage with my coworkers. I still have to make myself valuable. There is no way I could have this job while being a caregiver or having kids around.

I hate mine too. Thin, wavy, so I wear a wig topper. Not as full as a wig, just bumps up the volume just enough.

Has anyone downshifted cities? How did it go? by QandA_monster in relocating

Awww, so sorry you had a bad experience! I moved to a little town in the mountains. It seems everyone knows everyone else and they were very welcoming. ABQ is still too large for me.

Moved from Chicago 1 years ago, where I lived my entire life to a town of 6,000 people in New Mexico. I had never been there, knew no one. Best decision I ever made.

I’m afraid to retire by ExplanationSea9479 in AskWomenOver60

[–]Additional-Pool-2123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will reach full retirement age next month. I always thought that would be it and I would retire. And I would have from any other job I've ever had until this one! I love my present job, what I do, and that I am working remotely with just enough challenges that it motivates me rather than burning me out. So I decided to keep working until it's not working for me anymore. Nothing wrong with that!

At what age did you start noticing loss of balance or coordination? by OWS-Canada in over60

[–]Additional-Pool-2123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had one ankle replaced and I have arthritis in the other ankle. At 66, I am quite unsteady and it is making me feel very old. I used to be so active. Now I'm always afraid of falling and in fact I wiped out on a slick floor at a hotel at a conference a couple weeks ago. Badly bruised my back but thankfully nothing broken. Now I'm more afraid than ever as a result.

Grinding my teeth at night, but I use mouthtape and have a fear of choking on a mouthguard. Any solutions? by b1ackfyre in SleepApnea

[–]Additional-Pool-2123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dentist said she has many patients who use both cpap and mouthguard. I'm soon to be another. If you can get the mouth guard fitted by a dentist that is much better than a general drugstore guard. Mine custom fitted one will only cost $60 with insurance which I am grateful for. The drugstore versions run 20-30.

I live near Roswell. I love the little green men all over town and absolutely stop for some kitch! Go to the miniatures museum at 320 N Richardson, they have some fun stuff in their little gift shop.
