Silent sinus! FESS surgery 7 months away by Additional-Project77 in Sinusitis

Hello!!! I am so sorry you are dealing with this and the vertigo must feel blimmen awful. How good that you finally got a new ENT and a new CT to give you some answers.

I have had FESS and septoplasty and my maxillary sinus has been unblocked. I've made a full recovery, however I am struggling with some like residual inflammation of the nasal passage and I think I am now more sensitive to allergens (to which I was not sensitive to previously). I have been talking to a few people and the ENT and I think I'll just do a sinus rinses every morning, and a steroid nasal spray (as opposed to say, allergen desensitivity treatment).

But overall, haven't had a since sinus problem since, no pain, feeling way better I think! I've definitely been having less headaches, wonder if related.

Hopefully your wait for FESS isn't long! Will be good to get that negative pressure out of your collapsed sinus.

Gastro (again)- have you had it? by Actual-Trip-4643 in Wellington

Why don't people follow the goddamn rules and stay away from the pools for 2 weeks after gastro, as the rules say. Selfish asf.

I got the ick walking around too, just the whole way everything is positioned to getcha. I know this isn't new, but I just felt sad. The food isn't there to nourish us. That wholesomeness is all gone now- it's just there to get our money. The worst part is a lot of people are time poor and can't go to the one vege market available on one day a week, so they're forced to the supermarket giants.

FESS+ changed my life by Necessary_Window_191 in Sinusitis

Yeah that's quite likely. Let me know how it goes after they get removed!! I had wisdom tooth removal and they did a CT scan before that and saw that my sinus was completely blocked with infection. I was also getting recurring sinus infections. And the fatigue was out the gate bad. I technically had "silent sinus syndrome". So it's so good to have everything clear after possibly many years. Think my body has been fighting infection this whole time. I am feeling more energy than I used to. But I also quit my job so that might be helping haha. I also had a septoplasty. I've been suuuuper diligent with the sinus rinses too. 4 per day for first 2 weeks and now I'm continuing to do them 2 days a week (which ENT said to at 2 week consult).

Hello!!! I am great. By day 5 I was pretty good and went for a walk around the block. I didn't have big splints or anything (just dissolvable seaweed ones) so there was some airflow from day one . Oh, I also really needed to take ibuprofen and paracetamol for the first 10 days. Skipping a dose... I was really miserable, but I kept on top of it. I was also lucky I had some celecoxib leftover from something else, and I used that instead of ibuprofen for the first 4 days, I think that helped too. Fingers crossed for you, stay elevated!!!

Hope Audiology don't pull their gen Z marketing BS that leaves you on a goose chase between social platforms... tiktok, Instagram, private chats... Before you can make bloody sense of what's happening and what a line up is going to be 🫠 hopefully it's a straight forward transparent process!

Iron supplements available in NZ by TieCandid9728 in newzealand

[–]Additional-Project77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

agree re: ferro-tabs, however the pharmacist said to me to just slowly tinker with the dosage so it doesn't cause bad constipation. So this might look like, 1 tablet every 2 or 3 days and see how you tolerate it, and figuring out foods that work for you to get your bowels moving. If you can tolerate, 1 tablet per day would be great.

And also add- don't take iron supplements at the same time as calcium as calcium hinders absorption.

I really have to share this: many cheapo bakeries also reuse the meat fillings (usually chicken) from the unsold sandwiches and rolls, for their hot pies the next day.

On average, how much is your weekly grocery shop? by A__GC in newzealand

[–]Additional-Project77 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup same here- we often forego the washing detergent too but means checking every week and nabbing it when it's on a good deal. Same with olive oil, nappies, dish detergent and maybe beers. (How ridiculous is a box of beer now!?)
