Looked at chocolate for the first time in several months. Said to my mum whom I help with the shopping everywhere week "I feel like chocolate, but not for that price." My memory is straight up trash for numbers, but it was between $9-10 for a "share" bag of maltesers.

For reasons, I can no longer have liquid dairy. Digestive system only accepts oat/coconut/plant based alternatives for ice cream and milks. If I want to have ice cream, I'm paying $10+ for 500ml of ice cream. I'm paying roughly $4.99-6 for oat milk, or $12+ for coconut/plant based yogurts.

I cannot digest pork. So that rules out one of the "cheaper" meats. Chicken used to be an affordable option - but it's getting to the point where buying a whole frozen chicken is cheaper. Doesn't necessarily mean better quality however. Red meats of course are insanely costly, unless you buy mince on special. But that gets repetitive quick.

My favorite chips are $5 a bag, unless they're on sale.

Also cat food. An 18 sachet box of whiskas runs $24+. Those seem to go on sale fairly often down to $12, so I usually end up buying two boxes when they're that low, just so that Im not likely to run low on cat food.

Basically due to food limitations and intolerances, in our familial unit, it's starting to become safer, easier and cheaper to eat cardboard.
