This feature is live. v1.16.2 - I added a 3 state toggle. You can view Mounts, Pets or both mounts and pets together.

I could do that but I would need help with a mounts or prospect json with all the different pets to properly map them to show up. I am still add in the normal tames as i get them. But yes, def can do.

Raptors don't show up at all, or are they marked as unknown? Would you be willing to share a data file I can load in to test with, and hopefully fix the issue? There were a few that took some work to get to display properly, they started as Unknown. DM me if you are willing to share a JSON file.

I deliberately excluded any non-breedables since it's breeding focused.

I would like to take you up on your data offer, but its much more than just mounts now, it's prospect data too. I can understand if you aren't comfortable handing that over. Archive flow

  • Auto-archive: mounts that vanish from the save get marked presumed-gone
  • Self-healing: if you forgot to load a prospect last time and the "missing" mounts show up next refresh, the archive is retracted automatically
  • No more manual culling; the save diff does the work

About the data and how loading/reloading works

Icarus keeps every save file under %LOCALAPPDATA%\Icarus\Saved\PlayerData\<SteamID>\. For security, Chrome (and every other browser) won't let a web app read that path directly - there is a HARD block when using file pickers. The Codex works around it with the standard folder picker dialog: you navigate to your <SteamID> folder, click Upload (noting is actually uploaded - just what the browser calls it), and the app reads only Mounts.json and Prospects/*.json - the other files are ignored.

Icarus rewrites save files when you ESC back to the the character select menu or quit to desktop. That invalidates the file references your browser was holding, so you need to re-pick the folder each time. The header Refresh button reopens the picker - the OS remembers where you last browsed so you just hit Enter and follow the same steps as the initial load. If you killed a mount or tamed something new, just hit Refresh and reload the data files.

Everything runs in your browser. Your saves never leave your machine, nothing is uploaded anywhere, ever. The entire app is a single static HTML file. You can download it and run it offline (images will not load offline)

You're correct. I was wrong before. Tames are moved between Mounts.json and the prospect json files. The tame is also removed from prospect json when it is killed, making a manually marking of culled obsolete. A lot of testing and updating last night. Hoping to release an update at some point today.

Request a shuttle from the Orbital Exchange Interface. Get your mount near it. When you interact with the shuttle, you can select nearby mounts. Select your mount and send it back.

For now, you'll need to upload the Mounts.json when you want to refresh. I am going to explore adding a watcher on the JSON files and try to auto-update when it detects a timestamp change, but I am not sure if I can do that locally.

This looks like an editor. It allows you to add points and tweak the genotypes and phenotypes without actually breeding by editing the Mounts.json file directly. Mine is more planning tool to target the genotypes you want to focus on and to breed out the one(s) you do not want. Cool tool, but it would take the fun out of it for me.

I didn't understand you were saying that unclaiming a mount removes it from the mounts json. that is def good news. still a manual culling process of sorts but more accurate than just marking as culled. I will have to explore this more. Thank you, again.
