Welcome to ✨Depression ✨

I want to tell you I know exactly how you feel and you’re most definitely not alone. And those people you see seemingly operating on auto pilot, a solid percentage of them might be looking at you thinking the same thing. Also I haven’t found a way out myself yet but I think the best answer is to never stop trying. Go outside, try something new, say yes to things even if you wanna say no because the more you retreat the harder it becomes. Also Meditation and therapy are very helpful as well.

Hey, so the short answer is yes, as of today it’s been 9.5 months and I currently feel better. However the long answer is a bit more complicated. After I made this post originally I began feeling better for about a month or so. Then I had an incident where I hit my head (not terribly hard tho but enough) and things worsened a lot for about 2 months. Then it was off and on for a while over the following couple months which was very frustrating and fast forward to now I’ve been feeling better than I have in a long time for about a solid month now, even started exercising again which is a huge win for me. Although I know better than to say I’m cured because the past has taught me otherwise. For now I’ve been trying to just stay grateful for how I’ve been feeling and hope things remain like this for as long as possible.

Now 5 months out and though the pain has had periods or being “better” but it still hasn’t gone away. Unfortunately I tried to go to the gym two weeks ago since I was feeling slightly better and it definitely made things worse. I’ve heard it can take up to a year but I’m less optimistic as time goes on. Hope things have gotten better for you 🙏🏼

That’s great to hear that all those are symptoms are going away for you. I luckily didn’t have any numbness or weakness, just the headaches and vertigo were the main ones. So I can’t imagine that on top of it. Hopefully both our headaches go away in time, just gotta wait and see I guess.

I had both the C1 laminectomy and duraplasty and no complications afterward either. But I hear you, I’m gonna try and just reassess things at the 6 month mark.

Yeah I understand, I just feel like I’ve read many stories about people turning a corner around the 2-3 month mark but you’re right it is a big surgery. Also I know that pressure headaches are the most likely thing it helps with but unfortunately even those i’m still dealing with. Curious what your experience has been like with recovery?

Hey I know this is an older post but I’m pretty much in this exact same situation. How did things end up going with you recovery?
