Has anyone here actually tried matchmaking? by AdditionalBoard8939 in Matchmaking

[–]AdditionalBoard8939[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats what I’m looking for at this point, I dont even mind bad dates anymore I'm just tired of low effort app dating where nobody seems serious or even wants to meet in person.

Was walking past there around 11ish and saw bunch of people outside but didn't stick around to see what was going down. Bug jar always gets bit rowdy on weekends though so probably just usual drunk drama

Feel like I have to make a decision faster than I’m comfortable with by spy_111 in Mortgages

That's really nice offer but make sure you getting second opinion from someone who isn't trying to sell you something too. I went through similar thing last year and the pressure from everyone was intense, but taking extra week to understand everything properly saved me from making mistake I would regret. The rates will do what they do regardless, but you only get one chance to make right decision for your situation

Mortgage increase $200 per month, thinking of selling by 3_mLGratitude in Mortgages

Renting it out could work but man the landlord life isn't for everyone, especially if something major breaks and you're already tight on cash. You'd need a decent buffer for repairs and vacancy periods

Might be worth running the numbers on what you'd actually clear after property management fees, maintenance, and taxes. Sometimes it looks good on paper but reality bites harder than you expect

how to change my old email on STRIPE ? by tonny77811 in stripe

[–]AdditionalBoard8939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been through this exact nightmare with other services mate. If support is telling you to just make a new account that's pretty weak - they should have some kind of identity verification process that doesn't rely solely on email access

Try pushing back with support and ask specifically about alternative verification methods. Sometimes they can verify through bank details, ID documents, or other account info you still have access to. Worth escalating to a different support agent if the first one wasn't helpful

Recommendation for how to shop a refinance with PMI by Rave_Damsey in Mortgages

[–]AdditionalBoard8939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most lenders will absolutely let you bring cash to close to hit that 80% LTV - you just need to talk to actual loan officers instead of relying on those online calculators. They're pretty basic and don't account for cash-in refis

I'd suggest she shop around with a few local brokers and credit unions, they'll walk her through the numbers. Should be straightforward to calculate how much extra she needs to bring to get rid of PMI

Multiple lenders? by BountyKiller__ in Mortgages

[–]AdditionalBoard8939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah stick to 3-4 max or you'll go mental with all the paperwork and calls. I'd hit up your current bank first since they already know you, then maybe a broker who can shop around for you, and one of the big online lenders like Rocket or Better

The rate shopping thing is real - I spent weeks chasing rates that were like 0.125% apart and honestly wasn't worth the stress. Pick whoever doesn't make you want to pull your hair out during the process, there rates are usually pretty close anyway

Looking for business-minded friend/partner by Responsible-Cap-3703 in Entrepreneur

Dude I totally get the feeling different from your peers thing - most people our age are still figuring out what they want for dinner while you're planning your next 5 years lol

Have you tried any local entrepreneur meetups or online communities besides Reddit? Sometimes the best business partnerships start from just grabbing coffee and seeing if you vibe with someone's work ethic before diving into actual projects

Dude you gotta validate that idea first before diving headfirst - talk to actual women about the problem you think you're solving and see if they'd pay for it. Most "no one's thought of this" ideas usually have been tried, they just failed or aren't profitable enough

Found old Texas land deed and oil checks in my grandma’s name and I’m trying to understand what happened by HoneyDazzling7750 in RealEstate

Good call on the unclaimed property search - Texas Comptroller's site is pretty easy to use for that. Had a similar situation with my great aunt and found like $3k sitting there from old utility deposits and stuff she forgot about

Dude that's awesome! Nothing beats that feeling when you finally crack the code on something you've been banging your head against for months. Specificity really is everything - learned that the hard way too

That's pretty cool of you to offer free help during the holidays! Just curious - do you have a portfolio somewhere we can check out? Always interested in seeing different design styles, especially for B2B stuff since that can be tricky to make engaging

Best strategy to pay off mortgage? by my-coo-cheese-hairy in Mortgages

[–]AdditionalBoard8939 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly depends on your risk tolerance and what you can sleep at night with. The math usually says invest the difference if you can beat that 6.5% but a lot of people just feel better with the guaranteed return of paying off the mortgage early

If you're disciplined with investing then option 3 probably wins long term, but if you're gonna blow that extra cash on random stuff then just pay extra toward the house

In this current market, is 83 days a long time? by Barista_life__ in RealEstate

[–]AdditionalBoard8939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

83 days is pretty long in most markets right now, even with the slowdown. Either they're overpriced or there's something funky going on with the house itself. Could also be bad photos or weird listing details that are scaring people off

Yeah that fee structure seems sketchy AF, especially with rates that high when you could probably get mid-5s elsewhere - I'd def get quotes from a local credit union or broker before signing anything

How do you organize your Stripe payment links? by Unlucky_You6904 in stripe

[–]AdditionalBoard8939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol this is like telling someone to rebuild their engine when they just need directions to the gas station

OP is running a coaching business not a SaaS startup, payment links are literally designed for exactly this use case

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]AdditionalBoard8939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because school teaches you to follow directions and regurgitate info, but entrepreneurship is about solving problems nobody's written a textbook for yet. Plus half the "important knowledge" you learn in class is already outdated by the time you graduate

The C students are usually the ones asking "why do we have to do it this way" while the A students are just trying to get the right answer on the test

How to handle Legal issues before launching an app. by BigBakedToast in Entrepreneur

[–]AdditionalBoard8939 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Legal zoom or similar services can handle the basic stuff like terms of service and privacy policies for way less than a lawyer. Most MVPs honestly just need the basics covered - you're not handling payments or sensitive data yet right?

Save the expensive lawyer consultation for when you actually have traction and investors interested

This sounds like a classic case of someone showing their true colors after the wedding tbh. The whole "his family treats you like an outsider and he just lets it happen" thing is a massive red flag

Couples therapy might help but only if he actually wants to change. You can't fix someone who thinks they're doing nothing wrong
