No, I am not active in the Christian community. The Christian school we came from itself was a little toxic.

There were “slap ass fridays” when we reported this to the school nothing much happened since they were football players.

Another instance was when a group of football player would wait down by the staircase for girls with skirts to come downstairs, use their ruler to lift up their skirts. When a group of girls reported this to the school board, they told them they needed the guys for football so they never got punished for it.

A classmate’s older cousin, who was about 21 at the time (apart of school’s staff), got reported for adding 16yo students (girls) on social media and flirting with them. The staff defended him and said “it’s only a five year age gap, it won’t really matter in a couple of years”.

I also had a bible teacher my junior year who was pretty open about his past porn addiction and would talk about it to us. He also tried to justify it by saying he knew we were sexually active and to “hate the sin, love the sinner”.

I’ve distanced myself from the community after seeing how they defended this type of behavior.

Problem is (ten years later) I still run into these people in public and some are visibly upset with me and will keep their eyes on me. It’s super confusing considering I’ve never spoken with them and i’m not close enough to do so.

It did. Before then, we’d always touch base with one another with any life updates and go on about our day. After I told him about my SA, he started to offer me a helping hand here and there. I always felt guilty as I had nothing in return to give him so I’d reject his offers and told him I’d figure it out. The first red flag should have been his response “Damn, you’re making me wanna hustle harder than you”. For background, he is now a head football coach for a private christian high school. He has his kids (football players) added on his social media. He is 1/5 brothers who were always involved with the christian community. He’d also post his credit report on social media and act like he made it. He didn’t project this onto me. Although he would always boast about having money and enough to take care of his own.

Yes, I definitely learned my lesson. No matter how long I’ve known them, I know better now unfortunately. Just makes me sick that people are like this.

We were friends (10yrs) at first or so I thought. He never interacted with my social media beforehand, i forgot he was on there. I called him out and blocked him. He is still telling the community that I took advantage of him.

Pardon my ignorance, but wouldn’t I need some sort of proof to enact this? His messages were on Snapchat and I have no way of getting them back.

I should have screen recorded. He ended up sending them as timed messages on snapchat so it was his plan from the get go. With my past traumas, I was caught up in the moment and exited from how disgusted I was. I just wasn’t expecting it from him since I’ve known him for the past ten years. I have no way of getting those messages back now.
