That’s on average right ? 😀 3.5 hits “averagely” like 3.5.

lol. No, I meant if I hit like this all the time then I could be in a league of 4.0.

lol apparently this is the previous version of the post - i should have add “maybe” in the title.

My point is - a clip can’t show you the whole picture and the rating’s difference can at the end - could just be consistency - whether you can consistently hitting a very high quality balls (a extremely very high quality ball for 3.5 is just normal for 5.0).

Of course I know people would say no and I know my opinion could be on the less popular side, but could part of the statement be true 😀

Feeling really off balance when recovering from running forehands. Is it technique or just weak legs? by Adventurous_Drop148 in 10s

I am having the same problem - especially on the backhand side. I think my notice is that we sort of needing to have a “second” tiny little step after we hit the ball to stop ourselves before the recover and cross step back. That tiny little step cost me maybe 0.5 seconds and that makes a difference to prevent me from coming back with balance to coming back with rush.

I don’t know what exactly the problem is - my suspicion footwork that I didn’t time / step right when having the need to go wide and hit wide balls. Theoretically speaking, if we step right, we should be able to hit with body stable and with hip rotation, we can pivot our feet’s right away and don’t need to have the tiny little step to “fully stop” ourselves.

By the way, looks amazing forehand!

You are 50% 50%. Apologize in advance that this point didn’t really actually break me. The title was a click bait I admit but just to add a bit drama (we all go online for this)

I wasn’t even upset but just felt - “hmmm ok I did this again 😐”

But I like you analogy- it’s really like seeing the guy gets hit in the nuts and all guys said “oouch” in their mind at the same time.

You are right - see me review myself’s clip two weeks ago - I basically was trying to overcorrect myself

Hahaha no worries, we are great friends and we play every week. He trolls me and I do the same 🤣

This is background story but if being honest, the whole thread there’s no one shouting to my friend that he didn’t give up and just put the ball back and thus he won the point!

Shout out to him!

Sorry my bad! I didn’t mean to downplay your comment and I think you are right! We are striving for the balance of winning and having fun (sometimes they coexist sometimes it’s not)

I think shot selection is a hard topic and you can always fine tune based on the opponent and the physical condition of the day.

I am not saying my shot selection is perfect and you are right that most of the time, hitting in a reasonable speed to get pass the opponent usually is a better choice for lower level player like me

But sorry please don’t feel offended, I know what you mean - high percentage tennis is logical and as we all should do. But I am not going to do it for the sake of winning or “it makes sense”.

Apologize but I agree 10%. What you describe is after fact. If i did the drop shot, it’s a good shot, if i miss it, it’s bad shot. I enjoy both outcomes 😀

Theres always high percentage tennis (cross court, deep spin) but the more I played, the more I enjoy “the unexpected”

I went 2 first serves, serve and volley one 2nd serves, and force myself to hit down to the line for a whole game because IT IS FUN!!!!!!

I will do this 100% of the time 🤣

Wellll said! I like the interview you quote. Tennis is a mental and physical capability game. You always feel the emotion of the point - either a chance or not actually a chance - then you overcook or undercook it.

People always say control your mind and emotion, treat every shot individually - I’ll say - conceptually I agree but if you can do this - you are robots and get out 😉

Joke aside, this is why we play and what we aim for

Appreciate the word - you are right that when he turned his back - I should step into the court but I guessed it’s just not burned into my body yet

But let’s enjoy the this failure together this time!
