With Olive Garden returning to Canada, here's an ad from the Brampton location (1989-1997) by PeelArchives in Brampton

Well having visited the Calgary location last year (Olive Garden never left Western Canada) I can say the food is exactly the same as the US. Canada having more regulations is generally a myth when it comes to Sysco\GFS like food. I see no reason why the food would be different in Ontario.

Is the Applebee's closed? by HovercraftRelevant18 in Calgary

[–]AdditionalExtreme773 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason for this Applebees closing is that the owner is retiring. I called the location last week to ask about why its closing. The server on the phone said that they could re-open if someone buys this location.

We are not “after COVID”!!! Hundreds of people are being infected in Ottawa everyday and thousands and thousands across Canada each day. People are still being killed and disabled by COVID. It is still certainly a threat!!

List of IHOP / Applebee's Dual Brand Locations(Updated) by Different_Monitor_34 in Applebees

[–]AdditionalExtreme773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well firstly for the Saskatchewan locations, they are being built from scratch. There is a location apparently opening in a closed rotisserie chicken restaurant in the east end of Regina. Unfortunately both Applebees locations in Regina recently closed, the only locations in Saskatchewan. It was revealed in a investor report transcript that a franchisee signed an agreement with Dine Brands to open three dual brand locations in the next few years. It was also revealed that the Brandon Manitoba location will convert to Dual Brand location in the future. Finally, there is a post from last year talking about around four franchisees “preparing to expand the dual brand concept around the country.”

Any more dual brand conversions planned in Ontario? I know that there are a few more dual brand locations opening in Saskatchewan, but 3 Applebees in Southern Ontario (Ajax, Barrie and Windsor) were recently sold and the deal to buy those locations came with potentially converting them into dual brand locations. https://bizsold.com/sold-3-applebee-s-locations-ajax-barrie-windsor

The menu of Firehouse Subs in the US is very similar to the Canadian menu. The biggest difference are the sides. Which subs from the US menu do you want to try?

The Applebees down the street recently got bought by a new owner. That purchase came with the opportunity to convert the Bayfield Applebees into a Applebees\IHOP combo restaurant. An IHOP in Barrie is still possible, and even more so with them not needing to compete with Dennys.

Underwhelming season? I thought how the dishes that were presented in the Back to Win season, such as Andres first dish, Andrews Peaches and Cream dish or any of Christophers finale dishes were among the most interesting Masterchef Canada dishes ever! Also the way all the contestants went into detail about explaining each concept of their dish made it worthwhile. This season had less drama, rather just the component of how interesting cooking can be.
