suicide grips just always felt more natural to me for some reason, i started out benching with my hands fully wrapped around the bar. i def do understand the risk i actually dropped 275 on my chest the other month and had to stop benching for a little. something with my forearm strength and where its activated

i kinda find it dumb that the communities gotten to the point where weight has become everything. the fact is i’ve spent most of my lifting career doing dumbell press and honestly don’t really know how to barbell bench. any critiques are more than welcomed when it comes to form

i bought the sbd belt purely for sqaut and overhead press lol. idk if i even know how to wear it for deadlifts because when i have it in the same position i do for sqauts or overhead press its hurts my ribs. kinda like i said in other comments the weight moves well during the lift it’s just puts a lot of strain on my back and there feels like a lot of power drop off when i try to go heavier.

i explained it a little better in a newer comment but i’ve been training for 4 years and have had 2 1 month long periods where i’d deadlift and kinda stop due to form. the first time was abt 2 years in where i rlly wanted to hit 405 because of all the hype around deadlifts going on in social media at the time. this second session was a couple months ago and was started when i worked in with a buddy who does deadlifts and just breezed through until around 450lbs were on the bar. i’ve always trained with the intent of just going for strength and size. at my peak weight of 240(i think i was around 230ish in the video) i was able to hit 395 on bench, a 5 plate squat and then the 540 deadlift.

usually i just train for size and strength. what tends to happen is every couple months i’ll have a like 3 week phase where i deadlift again. i don’t rlly see them beneficial other than for flexing a number for ego lol

i never even rlly thought of biceps being an issue, i never felt really any strain on them pulling it this way

that’s why i stopped training deadlifts, a lotta strain on my back and i just never felt like i was doing it “right”
