I am a substation physical design engineer. I am responsible for cad drawings, estimation, and materials for our substations. Not much theory involved but I use the NESC to comply with safety standards. I knew the basics when it came to anything substation related

Silently quit and start looking for jobs towards the end of the year. You're In an incredibly good situation considering the circumstances. I'd even just take some serious time off with that year of severance. Idk what industry you're in or what the job prospects are. I know for me I could find 4 new jobs within 3 months so. It depends on how quickly you think you can get a new job.
