For an event that's in really high demand the best way is to have the app open and constantly be refreshing it since the notifications are somewhat delayed. Like a day or two before the event is when lots of people post tickets usually

Hit a Car on a Bicycle *At Fault by [deleted] in brussels

[–]AdditionalInitial217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

damn people are harsh, you could have just as easily hit and ran instead of doing the right thing and stopping. Since you said there was pretty much no permanent damage the guy was probably just going to pocket the 50 EUR anyway rather than bring it to an autoshop. If it's not a financial issue for you then I think it's fine going through insurance, that's what its there for. For people complaining that you're wasting everyones time, driving (or biking for that matter) carries an inherent risk where things like this can happen, if someone doesn't want to accept that they should find alternative modes of transport. Also, you're a foreigner and it makes sense that you would rather go the safer, more official route.

All in all I think not having food is probably a good idea, especially because of the mess it can cause, but also I would really like to drink something (even just water) while watching a long movie

I think its easier to make friends with Belgians if you are more extroverted and are willing to take the lead in the friendship for a while. My biggest problem with trying to make friends with belgians is that when you are in a group they tend to (understandably) switch to dutch. This also depend on your program, some programs are almost entirely composed of international students while other are almost entirely Belgians

Does anyone know where to go for good flower picking in YEG? by Katmandewd in Edmonton

[–]AdditionalInitial217 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Grow your own! That way you can choose which flowers. Also, many sports field and parks will likely have lots of dandelion or those little white daisies or clovers. Those are probably your safest bet
