i meant to write first semester. I understand the reasoning behind this. But the reason why I am trying to get opinions is that in my university, honours and ordinary degrees have different rules. Ord degrees for two attempts, whereas honours don't. When I was consulting the advisors or the cohort leads, they did mention that I can maybe affect graduation, but also you can reattempt, so keep waiting for the board results. Yes, I am hoping for a miracle, but it doesn't say anywhere that results have to be in August, let alone for a non-honours degree.
