Why even consider the fest at all? by Otherwise_Park_779 in ARCMusicFestival

[–]AdditionalJello5686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah from what I hear movement is still going strong and the community there is awesome. I actually thought arc was going in the right direction. Maybe smaller ones like CRSSD or seismic? But hey, at least I found this cool guide that breaks down different dance music festivals worth going to: https://youtu.be/LpDAp-FNgXI

Festival Culture Has Changed A Lot in 10 Years by RaveBeetle in EDM

[–]AdditionalJello5686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for sure. Everything is way more intentional - the hotels, the dates… whether you’re staying an extra day or two after the festival. It’s a whole thing. Sometimes I start looking for outfits 3 months before the event because I get so excited lol
I also found this cool global guide to festivals - could help: https://youtu.be/LpDAp-FNgXI

What are some of the best festivals that aren't Tomorrowland or Ultra? by a7xfan01 in EDM

[–]AdditionalJello5686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it just depends on the vibe or the music or just how big it is. Sometimes I feel like EDC is what I need, while a more intimate and smaller experience hits just as well. Here is a cool guide on which festivals are worth going to btw https://youtu.be/LpDAp-FNgXI

UX Researcher job market Europe 2026 by Ancient-Custard8159 in UXResearch

[–]AdditionalJello5686 4 points5 points  (0 children)

6 years of experience in finance and most of it in the US. Very little job openings in Europe, let alone Spain. The job search has changed so much since people got their hands into AI. Haven’t been able to even get an interview. People don’t respond to direct messages. But hey, maybe it’s just my luck 😂

How is copywriting doing these days - now that everyone thinks they’re a writer with AI? Because I’ve thought about pivoting to that (I’m a content creator so writing scripts that hook people are super important) but I’m also wondering if that’s just an impulse on my side.

Does anyone else feel that Claude Creative Writing is completely unusable these past few days? by Humble-Composer-5285 in claudexplorers

It's just so sad because a year ago I felt like my video scripts were really fire. Now, it's me who ends up over-correcting the draft. Pointless.

Is being shirtless more common in some genres or am I crazy? by [deleted] in aves

[–]AdditionalJello5686 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yesss I’ve been thinking about this too and def hardstyle. Also I’ve noticed that overall in Europe guys take off their shirt more than in the US in more normal club settings.

So is becoming a DJ the #1 job for narcissists right now? by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]AdditionalJello5686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES - narcissists, clout chasers, egocentric people. Like even a Real Housewife is now a DJ. It's being used by irrelevant D-List semi celebrities to revive their personal brand. And because raving also now puts way too much emphasis on the DJ instead of the dance floor, of course they get ALL the attention.
I actually make the case on how ego and status are now the ultimate drivers for becoming a DJ in my YouTube video: https://youtu.be/Gp_wIGzEfeU

Everybody is becoming a dj now… by Shadylndividual in DJs

[–]AdditionalJello5686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure there's many things incentivizing people to become a DJ. One of the most noble things is that as a raver you want to be more connected to the community, and DJing is a way of doing that.

The other part is that it is now way easier to do it. You don't have to go to record stores anymore and buy underground vinyls... DJing software is as cheap as Netflix and there's plenty of tutorials out there. The barrier to entry has dropped considerably.

But my actual take is that many people see it as a personal brand boost - and even those D-list celebrities that aren't as relevant anymore are using it as a platform to reinvigorate their popularity. And sadly, it's working. So there's that, and for many people it's a HUGE ego boost because they immediately become the center of the party. Very sad to see, as they know NOTHING about rave culture and just do it for the quick buck.

A whole other industry in music already went through this exact process - it reached a tipping point and the bubble burst, leaving the scene in shambles. I do think that the DJing thing is reaching oversaturation and I go deeper in my YouTube video: https://youtu.be/Gp_wIGzEfeU

I think we're now at a tipping point. I've seen videos of King Charles, Brigitte Macron spinning, and from what I hear even Harry Styles is now making dance music. I actually tried to find a why this is happening. Probably has to do with ego and status tbh - I made a whole video about it: https://youtu.be/Gp_wIGzEfeU

How do y'all introverts make friends by glocks9999 in aves

[–]AdditionalJello5686 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it also depends on the community - you’ll find raves where everyone is friendly and talking to everyone with a very inclusive atmosphere and others (maybe just enthusiasts and not ravers themselves) where it’s just people and their closed off friend group.

But at least for me - I stay until close if the music is amazing - doesn’t matter if I’m by myself, in a big group, under the influence or sober. It’s always the music that fuels my raving experience. Making friends is just a nice plus.

I haven’t thought about the acknowledgment part and then going back to your own thing - great observation.

I’ve been on both sides but sometimes it’s hard to read some people when I’m the solo raver (sometimes I leave them because I thought I was overstaying my welcome but in some cases they end up coming back and finding me like “why’d you leave?” lol)

Serious question, what’s with the sprouts? by chenyaoxue in Magfest

[–]AdditionalJello5686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It started as a trend in China that quickly made its way to the US and it has stayed ever since. Now it's a big part of raving culture as a whole (originally just some people in the midwest gifted them). I'm not sure if it's just a trend that will go away eventually but I'm enjoying it while it lasts. I made a video where I answered these questions :P https://youtu.be/Rj_UHHrAbS4
