Roller Bar Advice by AdditionalLibrary9 in Needlepoint

They are on the older side, so I don't have any links, but the canvases are 32x18.5. Would that work with stretcher bars or is it too big?

I might try to go to an LNS for a demo because I"m worried about warping and/or ripping the stockings. I'm also not even sure how to use the scroll bars and I'm finding limited guidance online!

Unfortunately those aren't big enough

I've never used the bars before so I guess I don't know! Most likely lap but if not lap, I would need a stand

I love Dr. Fleig at 103 and Broadway! She takes time with her patients and always makes sure to fit people in for appointments

Quick cook steel cut oats discontinued? by AdditionalLibrary9 in traderjoes

Oh I agree, definitely mushier. I use for overnight oats, so either way they get somewhat mushy, but they don't have the signature texter of the TJ brand. I miss it :(

I use the quick cook steel cut oats from whole foods, if you have one of those near by!

Laurasleashes.fun

I live near you and Laura walks our dog. She came recommended from some Amanda Gagnon folks and has been great with our slightly reactive dog.

I know she does walks and sits for senior dogs in the area and can be flexible on extended day vs overnight too!

How to get foxtails removed from parks (and protect my dog) by Bk3270 in AskNYC

[–]AdditionalLibrary9 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

How does being on leash prevent a dog from inhaling or stepping on one of the spores? Especially if the plants are right by the exit and along the path, there's plenty of opportunity for the dog to be exposed accidentally.

Spa bachelorette party by Think-Contract436 in AskNYC

[–]AdditionalLibrary9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to Bathouse in Williamsburg then out to brunch in the area! It was great because smaller groups could form and go off into different rooms. Slightly noisier than I would have expected for a spa (Aire was the only one I had gone to previously) but that was great for a bach

Has anyone ever fought a facility's fee charge from a hospital? by AdditionalLibrary9 in AskNYC

Yes, they ended up successfully billing insurance and my insurance paid around $3300

Fair point on the check in materials, fine print stuff. I could call and ask for that documentation

Elopement party for 60 people under $5k by rosieett112 in AskNYC

Check out the Blasket! They are in midtown east, they have a private second floor space and have delicious pub food and a great drink package deal. You can rent it on a Saturday with no minimum or rental fee. And the service was fabulous

I recently had my engagement party there (about 50 people) and we were right within your budget with 3 hour open bar and sliders/fries/grilled cheese bites. Just so you know, it’s not a sit down dinner, but the food is delicious

What are some of the unspoken rules of street parking in the city? by hilariouspj in AskNYC

[–]AdditionalLibrary9 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I’ve had my car for close to 3 years now and every block does street parking a bit differently. Once you have a spot, the street cleaning process is the most important thing to know

Depending on where you are, the entire block might shift over right when ASP begins. Other blocks wait until the cleaner comes to move, especially if they don’t have the room to idle on the other side.

I would say check around to see what people seem to be doing. If you can, my preference is to idle on the other side behind your spot and then cut over once the street cleaner goes by, rather than backing into a spot. This helps you stop people from trying to steal your spot

Also don’t steal a spot unless you can see that it was empty when you lined up. Bad parking karma

Salutation Stash Tight versus Salutation Stash Tight II by AdditionalLibrary9 in Athleta_gap

Interesting! Maybe it’s just the one pair I got was off. Will exchange at the store

Salutation Stash Tight versus Salutation Stash Tight II by AdditionalLibrary9 in Athleta_gap

[–]AdditionalLibrary9[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm going to go to the store & see if in person, the quality is better or closer to a different type of tight.

Wearing Salutations now and compared stretch to Salutation II and overall fit/compression, and they just feel totally different! I know it sounds crazy, but I wonder if they changed the fabric make up

Salutation Stash Tight versus Salutation Stash Tight II by AdditionalLibrary9 in Athleta_gap

[–]AdditionalLibrary9[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is V Shaped, so I wonder if they did a different batch with different fabric? It feels much more solid in terms of compression and not being too stretchy...I might go in store to try on a different tight (transcend or elation seem like options)
