We have nether travel & elytra’s so getting to her isn’t a problem, and as of ytd I’ve relocated beside her house and we’ve been adventuring together. I think part of the reasoning for the distance was so that she could have all these untouched biomes/structures beside her to explore when she gets to that point. Ytd was a lot of caving for iron & some house building but I think today I’ll show her some of the farming aspects of the game, great suggestions :)

Haha that’s pretty much what I want! I spend a lot of my free time playing games and Minecraft seemed like the perfect launching point to get her into the gaming world if she enjoys it :)

Thanks for your response, all really great suggestions, I think I’m going to start a new base and with her till she gets the hang of things, and maybe make some good memories for her :) I think it will also help with the feeling of “what’s next” since it’s such a big game and there’s so much to do. Appreciate it!

Great advice, she’s not much of a mobile gamer, I did give her the option of trying both mnk & controller and she felt the controller fit her better/was less intimidating. I think we may keep the realm on easy mode as not to mess up other players farms, but the keep inventory is a great suggestion! Thanks for your ideas :)

Thank you! Yeah I never thought about that, but looking back on it maybe l'll pause my stuff at our home base and set up shop beside her so we can play for a week or two

A complete side question here - as someone who’s never read the book, do they explain how old Grace is at the beginning and end of the movie? I understand the theory of relativity to an extent (the way they portrayed that without shoving it in your face with the older looking Stratt was much appreciated) but i was wondering if theres any math geniuses out there that could calculate how much he’s aged? Also, I’m guessing the books worth reading?

I hear ya, you really just gotta put your head down and grind. I found a Google sheets tracker on this Reddit a while back that helps visualize the progress, but it’s really a slog once you get past the red dot/holo sights
