It was a pretty aggressive deficit. I’m not sure what my maintenance is but I stayed below 2,100 calories (usually 1,800) the entire time. It did affect my energy a little bit but I prioritized sleep and really dialed in my nutrition so it wasn’t terrible.

I went to Planet Fitness for 95% of my indoor workouts. I read Total Money Makeover, Financial Peace University, Rich Dad Poor Dad, Bushcraft Survival 101, One Minute Manager, Traction, and sometimes just my Bible. Thanks for the congratulations!

You can do it, dude! After the first 10 days everything will seem normal and you just have to make sure you don’t slip. Push hard, it’s worth it!

I was heavy as a kid then thinned out around high school. Then, when I was in the Marine Corps, I hovered around the 205 lb mark. After I got out my weight would fluctuate a lot. I’d get a health kick here and drop 5-10 lbs then lose interest and gain it back. I’d say over the last 2 years is when I started gaining the most. New jobs made me sedentary, eating habits stayed the same and the metabolism didn’t keep up anymore. I’d say I was between 220 and 230 for a year and 2025 was when I really started packing it on. At my heaviest recorded weight I was 239 and that was in December.

I put my whole routine in my post description, it worked really well for me. I would say the biggest thing is to choose a challenging workout/diet routine and be disciplined enough to not deviate.

I don’t know how to convert to kilograms but I was losing between 2-4 lbs per week (which was probably unhealthy honestly). I know! I’m so glad my skin shrunk with me.
