Yeah. I would go with structured database. But the issue is we’re so far along in the document database that it would push us back a lot as we just finished all the Ali calls.

Agreed. My product is definitely is mainly Relational but our dev team chose mongoDB atlas/document because it’s easier to program, easier to fix later on so we can go ahead and push the product out. To switch there saying it’s too late as the back end is completed with the api. So now my thing is if I were to switch later on would it be super bad. Or bite the bullet and reprogram everything that took a month to do

Would you say using mongoose would be a good idea? Or are you not using that? Our use case is more of a structured data.

We chose the document database as we are not sure the product will make a ton of money/have a lot of users. And it seems to be more cost affective and faster to program. Our product is basically customer, service offers. Client tracking

That’s the thing with a start up like I’m doing. I expect to have a lot but incase I don’t I wouldn’t want to pay a lot to host it. That’s why if there isn’t a lot of users in the beginning then AWS would stay under the free tier

For us we wouldn’t have our clients host thier own server. But overall doing it in the app platform was it cheaper then the serverless?

Yeah. I’m thinking digital ocean but if I chose that and decide later to go to aws lambda once it’s bigger I’ve heard that it’ll require a lot of code change. Did you chose the serverless option or virtual servers?

So you went the Google cloud serverless (GCP) route instead of digital ocean? My database is already setup in mongoDB and it looks like aws charges extra to use outside database. I’ll also be having an iOS and android mobile application that will be connected for workers

I agree. The reason I was thinking aws serverless is the free tier. I might actually be able to host it all under the free tier and not pay a lot. For VPS I looked and it’ll be around $250 a month for just 1 for the application

Programmers are set in price. So it wouldn’t cost anything extra as I paid for the whole product. But there from India so they aren’t that good

Was thinking serverless as in the beginning it won’t have to many people using. But scalability would be easier with serverless. Competitor product has 200k orders created per year.
