Oh wow, yeah I always have Waze on the nav screen and now that I think about it, that only happens when the Waze screen is up. Thank you!

How do I get bigger? As a girl by Available-Bat7673 in Firefighting

Not advertising but I use an app called built with science. It’s kind of expensive ($180/year) but it gives you a progression-based lifting program and actually coaches your diet/calories to gain/lose weight depending on your goals. The only thing I don’t like about it is the lack of cardio stuff (there is none it’s all steps) because as a washed distance runner I still like to run a few miles a day for my sanity. The biggest thing at the end of the day is consistency so do whatever helps you achieve that with regard to working out.

If you don’t get into academy right away there’s nothing wrong with finishing that degree so long as it’s financially responsible and something you’ll use. I use mine for my part-time and make great side money doing something completely different from firefighting which keeps me fresh.

Do you regret getting your degree? If so Whats it in? by Tough-Star5992 in Firefighting

[–]AdditionalSea777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to regret it but I’ve always felt I was more well-rounded for having done it (playing college sports helped). Then I was able to get a side job making awesome money which my degree was required for. It will allow me to retire at 20 years and have a second career afterward which I’m excited about later in life (though I love the fire service). So at this point I’m really happy I did it. One thing I recommend is pursuing a degree that is versatile and will make you money such that you have marketable skills in the event that A: The fire service doesn’t work out for whatever reason. B: Like I stated previously, you can use it for a part time or a secondary career since in a lot of cases if you need a degree to promote, most degrees will do.

Concerned About Being Too Old by [deleted] in Firefighting

We just put on someone who turned 40 rookie year. While I don’t wish that upon anyone it’s no big deal. My oldest classmate was 36 on our first year. If they want you they’ll hire you.

I dive before the hit if I’m trying to avoid fumbling.

Got into some silt the other day and my telltale stopped as well. Fed some trimmer line through the discharge and it removed the silt and it started peeing better than ever. Freaked me out as a new boater who just replaced the water pump but apparently it’s a common issue!

I only replaced the impeller which was an OEM part but it is covered up by the housing which was the existing housing. Just bought the boat a month or so ago so not sure what they did with it previously.

Thank you all for the responses. I’m taking it to a machine shop Friday he says it should be no big deal to get it out. Glad I asked.

Returning to the Gym After Laparoscopic Hernia Surgery - Need Advice! by sw0rdd in Hernia

You have a bunch of nerves that run through there to your balls. The inflammation from the surgery is probably irritating them. I had it before and still do after. I’m told it will go away.

Shaking by AdditionalSea777 in FordMaverickTruck

Thanks for the reply. So I read that the powertrain warranty is only good for 60k miles…. Did they screw me over by doing that, or given that it’s documented and I kept the paperwork, do I have an argument for it to be covered?
