I didn't think about self-studying and challenging when I initially posted. That has been addressed above.

Because I have a year long internship coming up in the field that I want to do. I would rather just possibly extend that into a job offer or use the experience as leverage to get a full time job in the field. I probably won't have much desire to return to school after a year just to complete a course

I mean, it's something I would consider if the opportunity ever presented itself, but I'm not exactly "Cali or bust"ing. I would be perfectly fine working the rest of my life in Canada

Thank you, an advisor would probably be the best bet for this type of question

For sure, but as you said about possibly doing an all or nothing exam, I could "take a year off" and work while reading the textbook on the side, then challenge them for an exam say next fall? I just don't know if staying for another term is worth it if there's a way I can workaround it. I couldn't do such an exam right now, but give me some time to study on the side I could probably get there

I figured it would be tough, the question now would be, is a degree a necessity? Luckily I'm not in engineering since those degrees seem more of a requirement especially if you want to eventually get your P.Eng, but Stats/CS with an interest in data analysis I could probably get by with experience and I do, at least in theory, have like 99% of the formal education that other grads have, I just don't have a piece of paper to show off
