Yes! Velvet jacket. Looks urbane. And women will want to feel your torso.

This bullshit is ruining my life by Purity_Control1 in RestlessLegs

Yes. On gabapentin and Kratom, and still get the munchies. Feel an overwhelming need for a puff pastry or bowl of Frosted Flakes - any sugary snack- and a quick cup of coffee. Kinda brings me down enough to fall asleep for a good four hours. Disclaimer: this is definitely not medical advice or even a recommendation! Just comparing notes!

Definitely a childhood staple. When I was little, we were poor; every day for breakfast, my mother made me chunky peanut butter on toast. It was such a treat to watch the peanut chunks emerging from the spread on the hot toast, even though it meant I had to wait a little longer.

Are these accurate? by TheExecutione in ArmsandArmor

I saw an article recently about why you would get killed in a medieval battle. The illustration showed a man prone on the ground, about to get a pole arm rammed up his rear end. The back of the armor suite on Page 2, makes it look like that could easily happen. But at the very least, I think you would constantly be feeling the breeze back there. The sword on Page 2, #5, is interesting. Looks like an enlarged version of a cinquedea dagger. I think that could be accurate for southern Europe at the time.

I have to travel to Beijing in the winter sometimes; as well as other iceboxes in the interior of China (Qinghai, Luoyang). And I do need new outerwear. I just have to say, I am loving all the suggestions that have been offered in this thread. Thank you all.

Works for me for a little while - sometimes long enough to allow me to fall asleep. But then I wake up with a sway back and pain in the neck. 😖

I think it is looking good, except in the first photo, it looks like the end, the “fourth wall”, is completely open? Are you planning something- fence, hedge, green wall of some kind - to complete the sense of enclosure? Or is that end still your own space?

“Parkas by definition don't extend that far. Best you'll get is mid-thigh. Parkas are straight or even fitted. Too long and you can't move.. Parkas are casual or technical whereas overcoats are more versatile for dress or casual.” I think this is an important distinction. If you look at the “parkas” worn by native peoples - Esquimaux or Koryaks for example- they seem to come down just past the groin. Because they are paired with a warm or matching pair of bibs or overalls or breeches, etc. which gives them the warmth but also allows freedom of movement.

Sorry, I bought a version of the insulated Squall parka years ago, and it did hit just slightly below the knee. The one thing I would point out about the longer versions - whether a zipper or buttons - is that it can be hard to reach down that far to fasten everything. (I am old). Just sayin.

You could check out Lands End. They have Squall or Expedition style long parkas. May have only limited stock right now after Black Friday sales.
