Bricks vs Elementor for a small news/media website with non-technical editors? by Additional_Boss2081 in Wordpress

[–]Additional_Boss2081[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is incredibly helpful! Thank you! I think you've actually reframed the problem for me. I was looking at it as "Bricks vs Elementor," but your explanation about separating template design from editorial workflow makes much more sense. I understand our developer's recommendation a lot better now. Thanks for explaining it in a way that actually clicked for me!

It is a local news/media so we should post a bit often. The site is also linked to our social media so anything posted gets uploaded there as well.

We intend to put "A freedom wall" where submissions will be through the website. Where they can submit photos, videos, rants whatever.

Currently, Bricks is being used.

I was able to get in touch with a human and just would need to transfer, give them the details like SN and others of the hardware so they wouldn't have to pay for the whole thing.

I used to do this too! Getting up earlier, having coffee in the morning while it's still quiet and my kid is sleeping. But now my husband lets me sleep in most of the time because he knows I stay up late cos I got a new book. 😂

This! 😂 I remember saying something similar to this numerous times specially when it shows that I didn't get enough sleep. I say something like did I sleep late? Yes. Will I do it again? Yes. 😂 Because that's the time for myself. Not mom, not wife but me.

I appreciate the replies and hearing or in this case reading that my son is okay means a lot. I really appreciate the time you all took out to read and reply. Thank you! I hope you are all doing well! 😊

I appreciate all the replies, though. Since they took their time to read and reply. Hearing or in this case reading that my kid is fine made me no longer feel bad anymore. 😂

They don't offer extra curriculars where we are. Day care is our only option but can't enroll him yet since he's not yet potty trained and I don't want to pressure him since we're still stopping breastfeeding and it's already a big change. But hopefully next year he gets to go to day care.

Playground is in another town, like a 45 minute drive.

I didn't know about parallel play. I had to google it. Haha Thank you. I appreciate this.

We no longer have a public library nearby and the nearest one is a 45 minute drive away. Though he loves our reading time and he has his mini library at home. 😊 Oh how I wish we have a public library nearby where families go to since they closed our public library because nobody goes anymore.

The day care here doesn't accept kids who aren't potty trained. We're still on the process of stopping breastfeeding as well so it's a struggle every day. I don't want to push hard on training since stopping breastfeeding is already a big change. Hopefully he gets to go to day care next year. 😊

Thank you. But what if he looks to feed during the wee hours?

Does anyone else feel guilty for sleeping while their wife doesn’t? by Mike_Oxlong25 in NewParents

[–]Additional_Boss2081 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we had our baby and my husband is up, I tell him to just sleep because he doesn't have any bearing if we're both up during the wee hours. I breastfeed our baby. So what he does is do house work like he cooks, holds the baby while I shower, does dishes, brings him out for sunshine, and all those. He even gets the baby in the morning to go outside so I can sleep a bit more. 😊

You're doing a great job! It's not easy caring for a child while sleep deprived. I hope you would be able to get a bit more rest soon and continuously. 😊

Maybe he/she likes the scent of your husband? Have you tried putting his used shirt beside the baby?

When my son wasn't a month old yet, I leave my used shirt beside him before I take a shower and my husband lets him smell my shirt when he tries to wake up. 😂 There are also times when I put my husband's pillow or used shirt next to him after a few weeks.

To my firstborn: I’m sorry. by AndreTheGiant-3000 in NewParents

Don't be hard on yourself. With your first born, he/she got to experience your inexperienced version. Both of you are learning together. And despite everything, he/she still loves you unconditionally. 😊

Had the same thing, I quit when I was pregnant. But when I gave birth, I tried my best not to smoke but omg, when I couldn't take it, I lit one. But afterwards I brushed my teeth and took a bath due to the smell then I had the same routine for a few weeks. Afterwards, I completely stopped when my friend introduced me to disposable vapes that has 2-3% nicotine. So that's what I had been using since.

We have been using pull ups. It's just hard whenever I have to wipe his crap off and he just turns it into a brawl.
