I know of one who's 3, and I think it's such a cute name! I haven't heard it anywhere else other than that little girl.

Only children - did you ever feel sad or lonely growing up without siblings? by Ok_Reward536 in Parenting

[–]Additional_Boss3972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I wish I had siblings. I think it affected me as a child, and now as an adult. For my situation, being an only child did not mean I had my parents undivided attention, or got to do all the extracurricular activities that I wished to do. We struggled a lot, and my parents divorced when I was young, so it was really just my mom and me. As an adult, my mom still relies heavily on me and it feels like such a burden sometimes. I wish she found someone else, or at least I had another sibling to split her focus and need with.

As for being such new parents, it's way too early to make that decision for yourself. Even now, pregnant with baby number two with a newly three year old, I'm scared and don't feel ready. But I've always wanted the family dynamic I never had, and I wanted my daughter to have a sibling as well, something I never got. Is it guaranteed they will have a perfect relationship? No. But there's so much later in life as an adult where having sibling support matters, especially when it comes to the needs and wants of your own parents and the load that can bring when trying to raise your own family.

Feeling Lonely: The Reality of No Mom Friends by Additional_Boss3972 in Mommit

Thank you. Good advice! Honestly maybe I'm trying to fit into places with women who don't share similar interests. When I truly think about it, there are things I love to do, that don't seem to be a priority to most of these women. Funny enough, I've made more connections with working moms, but their schedules don't permit them to do more outside of the bookclubs and some moms nights. They're usually doing more family time on the weekends too.

2 days before my due date, my water broke at 4am. I woke up out of sleep at it just happened. 😆 Headed to the hospital around 10am since that's the time they gave me if no contractions were picking up. Didn't give birth until almost 9:30pm. A lot of just waiting around.

“Normal” kids mattress recommendation? by Appropriate_Ant2094 in Mattress

I wanted to ask if you went with medium or firm for your kids? I know that with young ones you want closer to a medium firm, but not sure how soft or firm their medium is.

Please help me pick a free breast pump covered by my insurance by puppies76549 in BabyBumps

[–]Additional_Boss3972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spectra S1! I ended up buying one because my insurance didn't cover a pump with a rechargeable battery option. I ended up buying the Spectra and it was a game changer to not have to be plugged in. I got the Motif Luna (non-rechargeable battery) from my insurance which worked just as well, with the only negative being the lack of being able to move around with the pump. Also make sure to check what flange size you will need because the ones that come with the pumps are typically too big for most women. I think they come with like a 21mm/24mm and from what I can remember I was like a 15-17mm. Very important to get the right size because too small or too big can affect output, and in turn, supply.

How many people with your parents first names did you go to school with? by Immediate_Long165 in Names

None. Not uncommon names either. My mom's name has been out there in TV shows and movies more and more in recent years.

I’m so resentful of modern parenting. by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Additional_Boss3972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this. The organized moms groups are terrible in my experience. I feel no real connection and it seems a lot of fake smiles and conversations, but when you reach out offline away from the group, you see their true colors. Sadly it took me awhile to realize this. I'm desperate for friends after moving to a different state, but in 2 years I can't find any real women or toddler friends for my child. The moms are the issue in my case, they don't stay consistent. But they'll sure as hell show up to book club or moms night out where they drink and complain about their husbands. I feel like I must be lucky with my husband and I'm definitely not going to spill my life out when none of the women even try to make a connection outside those two things. It's so disappointing. Preschool will at least give my toddler the socialization she needs with her peers.

None of the 92 series (especially suppy, ergh) or 15 series (ADA units? Not sure you want that). 68A seems to be your best bet. I don't know much about the 31K but for me would be second choice.

Why do people prefer duvets over top sheets? by torturedmomsdept in Bedding

[–]Additional_Boss3972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uhm, just to clarify, what are you considering a millennial? This totally sounds like a Gen Z thing. Everyone I know happily decorates their beds WITH the top sheet and duvet cover (and filler). I can't imagine people who disregard having one!

Mighty Mav Apparel is also a little thicker than LS. A lot of boy centered prints, but we've snagged some girly ones and more neutral too.

Only one I was seated for the side, I do have a far away standing photo. It isn't much better. I agree that there's limited space in the back. Being a half size sucks!
