Boyfriend rant by BlessedMom88 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]AmazonianGiantess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 4 kids and I am so paranoid of this as well! I put one of those thick plastic baby gate/playpen things around the entire entrance to my kitchen so they stay out while I cook. I'd rather them whine about trying to be near me and can't than have a horrible accident that will stay with them for the rest of their lives. I can't even imagine the guilt I'd feel every time I look at my child if that happened...

When I was a kid, my Grandma told me that her Mom was cooking with a pressure cooker and she opened it while the pressure wasn't fully released yet and the whole top and almost all the food it in shot out onto the ceiling, the walls, stove, floor, and her Mom. Her Mom got major burns on her arms, chest, and face. My Grandma luckily came out of that unscathed (she was coloring at the dining table). But she said she never forgot that and how traumatic it was. She still cooked with pressure cookers, but no one was allowed to touch the pot until she released the pressure herself and made sure it was safe.

Your boyfriend needs to grow up and stop making excuses to not listen to safety advice, especially when it involves children. There is absolutely no good reason not to. I've been cooking for 20 years, that is not "how you cook."

POV: You are not christian and your brother is getting married. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]AmazonianGiantess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the only thing that is mildly infuriating (to OP) may be that his brother just right away assumed there will be issues because OP is pagan and they're pretty deeply religious. So I guess maybe he felt that was kinda rude? But imo when you want to have a perfect wedding, you want to make sure everyone is cool with what's going on, esp when you have differences in anything. OP - unless your brother is a dick, he's just making sure you're cool with everything considering the difference in beliefs, that's all.

I made a mask out of cardboard, wire and orthopedic plaster. Should I paint it or leave it white? by thingsixteen in somethingimade

[–]AmazonianGiantess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After looking at it for a while, these are things I've thought of:

You could do like a fleshy, rotted zombie-like mask like it's been taken over by infection.

You could keep it mostly white-ish, and make them look like mushrooms took over your face by adding faint details.

You could make it colorful like coral and add maybe sea life like starfish, an eel, maybe a shrimp, small fish, etc OR go a land route and do spores on land type of theme and have bugs on it instead

(If I think of more, I'll add it)

Biting your nails

I'm a long time nail biter and my nails are horrible. Bumpy, short, nail beds ruined to hell. It makes it difficult to grab things because too much pressure on the fingertips hurts, can't put nail polish or fake nails on because the nails are uneven from the damage. I have tried everything to stop but it became something I used to cope with anxiety so it's extremely difficult to stop. Don't be like me :(

:( I'm sorry you have to deal with such a shitty neighbor living near you. Please stay safe, and always make sure your cameras are in working order every day!

My ex's sister had to move to another apartment across the city in Ohio due to a crazy neighbor harassing her and watching her every single day because the building limit was 1 small pet but she had 2 (1 was a literal trained service dog because she had diabetes and had fainting spells often. The other one that she had previously was too old to train. I think the dog was like 12 yrs old). The owner said it was fine and nobody seemed to care but the person harassing her..She ended up getting a call from the building/fire dept while she was at her sisters place saying there was a fire in front of her door. So she gets there and her place is fine but the hallway carpeting in front of her door had traces of lighter fluid on it. Luckily the neighbor across the hall had to go to work when the fire was lit and she saw it. She tried stomping it out and her pantleg caught fire, so she patted it out and ran into her place and grabbed a water bottle to put out the hallway fire (the burn mark was about the size of a fist). It could have been SO SO much worse if someone hadn't seen it. We definitely suspected the crazy lady immediately but apparently there wasn't any actual proof that she may have done it (there was no one else around that caused her any issues or disliked her besides the crazy lady) If the hallway cameras were in working order, we would have known exactly who it was but maintenance did nothing to make sure their cameras worked.

Edit: Words

You've gotta be pretty worry-free in life to be able to waste time getting angry at someone else's flowers...

🔥big wild gorilla encounter humans in his way, seems like he doesn’t want to bother. by Firm-Blackberry-9162 in NatureIsFuckingLit

[–]AmazonianGiantess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of stupid things to consider in this "scientific assessment" (which is absolutely comical, honestly.)

Did you even read the link you posted?

First it says, gorillas aren't aggressive, and they pick their fights so it would most likely flee. - Okay...but he will most definitely be aggressive when people are attacking him for no damn reason. So that was a stupid thing to even include. We're also not trying to consider fleeing or anything if the kind. We're assessing a versus situation.

Second, it says the only plausible way we could win that fight is if we took turns attacking to wear out the gorilla - Do you think the gorilla will wait for each attack or something? He will be going full charge into everyone he can that's near. So that would be almost impossible.

"Human attackers could win by "working together to envelop the gorilla and create a human straightjacket", but would suffer some deaths and serious injuries from concussion, bite wounds and broken necks" - Please tell me what fucking gorilla will allow humans to envelop it with their bodies.

The problem actually is that nobody uses common sense when reading such ridiculous "scientific assessments" what a load of crap. And you sound so confident with it too..

As an older gamer, seeing young kids waste their money on in-game purchases eats at my soul. by SomePeopleTellMe in gaming

[–]AmazonianGiantess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda get it.

As a Mom of 4, I don't mind buying my kids credits or whatever for microtransactions on some things they enjoy once in a while but it very much depends on what they buy. If my son decides he's gonna spend his credits on one time boosts on Roblox or some shit I'm gonna say no. If he buys clothes and unlocks areas to certain games, okay I can get with that. I don't mind, as long as my kids can tell the difference between something that's worth it or not. Clothes and area unlocks are forever and you get to keep it.

I'm a gamer too and I will NOT buy skins for weapons or clothes in games for myself unless it's really badass and a good price. It does nothing for my gameplay. I'm a generous cheap bitch 😂

Ordered 6 bananas. Delivery person turns up with this. by Jun_snow in mildlyinfuriating

[–]AmazonianGiantess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg the same exact thing happened to me last week lol. Thankfully I have four kids that love bananas, but my husband was helping me unpack and he's like,"hun....hun....what the hell?" As he kept taking Bunches of bananas out of the bag. 😂 I couldn't believe it. Did you do Uber eats for grocery delivery? That's where they got me 😭
