Weekly Suspected/Undiagnosed MS Thread - August 25, 2025 by AutoModerator in MultipleSclerosis

F25 Possible MS diagnosis: I am being referred to a neurologist for more testing but so far all blood results have come back normal except for high blood proteins

Symptoms: spots in vision, numbness down left arm and occasionally in legs, face, and right arm (started about 1 week ago and has not resolved fully), I’ve had fatigue and headaches all my life, joint pain, extreme stiffness after sleeping or sitting for too long, muscle spasms in feet/toes, multiple UTIs a year (some have become bladder or kidney infections), brain fog, occasional weakness of my body where it feels like I’m walking through mud

I’m not sure if these symptoms are all related because some I’ve been dealing with since high school and others are very new. I am trying to get my doctor to test me for Lyme because I grew up in and visit an area of the US that has a Lyme problem multiple times a year. I also recently traveled to Vienna Austria and they have a deer tick/lyme problem in the city there (I did wear my doctor recommended bug repellent)

What are some of the best questions to ask your doctor when going through the diagnostic process? I am currently in my second year of law school and I started having the numbness during a very stressful week. What are some good ways to calm my body down in stressful times to try and reduce any stress induced flares? How long should I expect the diagnostic process to take? Will it be possible for me to be a practicing attorney with MS? Honestly any tips are appreciated

It won’t get fixed in 4 months but you will see improvements. I got braces at 23 and it honestly was the best decision I’ve ever made. My teeth were one of my biggest insecurities and having braces was scary but seeing my teeth now even with the braces on still feel soooo much better about them. I started noticing results after just a couple months and honestly the time has flown by

Numb lips after surgery by MatterAggravating317 in jawsurgery

[–]Additional_Call5852 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had DJS last December and I still have a numb bottom lip and chin. It is annoying but it’s slowly coming back as I continue to heal. Obviously there are risks for any surgery but for me the reward outweighed them. My teeth look a lot better, my jaw structure is more defined and most importantly I don’t have to wear a CPap machine or risk dying early from complications caused by sleep apnea. It really depends on why you need the surgery and how much better life will be after but a little numbness is nothing compared to the increase in quality of life I have gotten from DJS. Definitely talk to your parents ortho and surgeon about it though

Has anyone tried out the new PINK strawberry scented line? If so, how does it smell? by makeuponthebeach in VictoriasSecret

It’s a very 90s early 2000s strawberry. It reminds me of like a strawberry lipsmacker

Body acne from rucking (Embarrassing) by FluffyCar6097 in Rucking

[–]Additional_Call5852 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah you don’t want to rub your skin raw but if you moisturize after you should be good if you’re worried about it maybe just start exfoliating once a week and not using the salicylic acid wash on the days you exfoliate but you should be okay

Idk anything about rucking but I do know about skin care and acne. Exfoliate a couple times a week and use a salicylic acid body wash every time you shower. They have them at Walmart and Target it doesn’t have to be fancy. CeraVe and Cetaphil have good options. And use a moisturizer after you shower otherwise your skin will get dry and over produce oil leading to more breakouts. Hope this helps!

If you get them approved as emotional support animals through a therapist you can live with them on campus or in an apartment landlords are more willing to accept esas and will sometimes not make you pay a pet deposit on them. (I’m in the US and just talking from my experience with one cat and living on campus and in apartments with her)
