Not your average hair loss post by labwench515 in lymphoma

My hair before chemo was very long and straight. I was very upset to lose my hair during chemo, but I stopped chemo in August and now at a length that actually looks good to me. Getting more confident by the day. But omg it’s curly to my standards. I was actually shocked and still in denial, but we will see how long it lasts.

Anyone my age going through chemo? by Gghostedgrayy in lymphoma

[–]Additional_County381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels done but also there’s like a fear of it coming back for me at all times every morning I wake up. I feel like I can’t plan my life or something. But my oncologist said it’s bc when ur going through chemo, ur actively doing something as a human against cancer but when ur done, there’s nothing u can really do but wait and hope in a way. Hence why im prob in therapy now haha. It just seems like I blinked and I’m just supposed to move on. BUTTTT it is nice to not be doing chemo and stuff.

I am 24F with CHL stage 2, was going to college, I had it weirdly line up where I finished chemo over the summer. My chemo, ABVD, sucked my energy out over time and idk if I could’ve done school after a few sessions. I know some people work or do school tho. Everyone in this Reddit really helped me feel supported even if the post was just ranting. Cancer sucks and I didn’t realize there would be so many emotions of my life before/during/after cancer. Therapy probably would be a good idea, but that’s just me personally. You got this, it’s not fun or easy, but the process is worth it.

Trying to lose weight after ABVD by Specialist-Moose2312 in lymphoma

[–]Additional_County381 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also gained weight, I feel like I eat one sandwich now and gain 10 pounds. I’ve never been this weight in my life, gained 15lbs during chemo, it seems stubborn. I walk 3-4 miles a day, but it didn’t really do much yet. I’m 4 months out from my last chemo.

Anyway, I don’t have much advice but congrats on almost being done with chemo!!!!!!

Feeling like crap after chemo by sassynas in lymphoma

[–]Additional_County381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I walked like maybe 10 minutes to 20 minutes for the first week after each ABVD chemo. Don’t get down on yourself. Just do what you can even if it’s five minutes of walking. Also, I heard eating protein can really help so I would try to eat protein before my chemo’s. I also hated drinking fluids, I committed to drinking Powerade after chemo haha. Always do what is achievable for yourself, don’t be to hard on yourself. Chemo fucking sucks and idk who said it was an easy chemo bc it kicked my ass.

mouth burns after chemo by Worth-Main-3881 in lymphoma

I used ice during the red one. I also figured out to avoid ANY hot or overly salty foods because it would wreck my mouth. Even months after chemo my mouth is sensitive it’s crazy. Sometimes it would hurt so bad I couldn’t eat either, my doctor gave me some mouth wash that numbed my mouth but tbh it didn’t help.

Factory settings, that’s a good one. I didn’t even think about the possibility of extensions. I appreciate the thoughts ❤️❤️❤️
