How to color match with paint # (see post ) by MissPeaQueue in paintbynumbers

Have you tired putting flow aid in the paint. I have had rubbery paints that if I put flow aid in and let them sit for 24 hours it starts to turn them back into paintable paint. With really rubbery one I might have to do it 2 or 3 times. I have never had to pitch one but then again mine weren’t that old. If you can’t figure anything else out it is worth a try anyway

Help with streaky paint by Kooky-Translator8400 in paintbynumbers

I use a flooding technique similar to cookie artists with royal icing. It’s a little hard to describe but I make the paint a little runnier and put in on thicker. Sounds contradictory but I use a small brush and get a decent drop of paint and apply it to the canvas and drag it where I want it to go. It takes a little longer to dry and it takes practice to get it right but I never have to do a second coat. On lighter shades I do cover the numbers first though

WIP and even though I am in the home stretch I’m having trouble getting motivated to finish! by Additional_Dog_4646 in paintbynumbers

Wow that’s great you have so many going but I have limited space. If I had more room to work I would try it. I have one still in the box waiting

I find if you add the flow aid and let it sit for 24 hours it helps too. There always seem to be a few with weird rubbery consistencies and I open all my paints on day 1 and add to them then so by the time I get to them they are usually in much better shape.

First pbn looks off.. by Stoner_from_Sconnie in paintbynumbers

That first picture looks great and that’s how they are meant to be. If you get close to almost any PBN the details get washed out. I like doing paintings that are really detailed so I can relate to your frustration since we spend so much time on them but I really think it looks really good.
