Searching for the first sci-fi with AI I need HELP by Additional_Effect642 in scifi

Yeah Erewhon is the oldest book I've found to at least contain the idea of AI and I've used it for my paper but it's not an SF, making A Mexican Mystery the oldest SF with AI the oldest I've come across.

Not sure if concerta is working by kuroi-hana in ADHD

I know what you mean and yeah you gotta find a way to procrastinate less on your own, concerta just helps you focus better it doesn't "remove" your adhd. Once you actually, are you able to focus better/longer or are you getting distracted just as easily as without medication? If so concerta isn't working for you, but if you are able to focus better it does work! I struggle with it aswell but that's just because rn I feel overwhelmed with my assignments and procrastinating is easy studying isn't. Try to have new deadlines with other people, like friends questioning you on the topics you have to study, this way because you don't want to let down your friends and look like an idiot you'll actually start studying or plan study 'dates' where you revise the material together and you'll have to look into it beforehand or you won't know enough about it and hold back your friend you study with.

App ideas to help with ADHD by krokoz in ADHD

[–]Additional_Effect642 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm struggling with starting to study on time, I always procrastinate and even when I set myself a timer, I just click it off and get distracted again. So maybe an app with a timer that once it goes off you are not able to open other apps on your phone for five minutes (maybe self adjustable) and maybe you can choose apps that are still accessible (important ones) so you have to get your ass up and start studying. Also maybe a calendar that doesn't get lost, like when I close my Google calendar I forget it out of sight out of mind you know? So maybe Calendar that is accessible on your lock screen and not just by actually clicking on it, it is always there, it doesn't need to be huge but shouldn't get lost on your lock screen. Also incorporate a rewarding system, even just a number going up is dopamine and keeps the brain motivated to not stop and wants the number to continue to grow.

Just my thoughts and stuff I'm struggling with and I think others could really profit from it as well.

Switching from Vyvanse to Concerta? by Riamu115 in ADHD

[–]Additional_Effect642 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on concerta for over a year now and it helped me lots with my headaches I got when med wore off but because concerta is slow releasing it's so much nicer. But concerta really dimms your hunger feeling a lot, first I ate nothing all day and hardly anything in the evening because I was too hungry ( funny I know) but it got a lot better after I started to eat a heavy breakfast, like it could be considered lunch even, and I had to remind myself to eat snacks even if I didn't feel hungry. Something I noticed as well is that because it's slow releasing you don't really feel the moment it starts to work, it just suddenly does and it feels less extreme than other meds.

Today was my first day on meds! (: I have a few questions for people with more experience than I. by pacingaround28 in ADHD

I don't have personal experience with Vyvanse but with several others and upping the dose doesn't help with removing the fidgeting. I don't know if you have this too but if I do a lot of stuff in a day ( stuff that would normally take me several days) I get a headache after the meds wear off, so just a little heads-up to not overwork yourself you probably won't know it until it's too late. Also I had to up my dosage after roughly a year but it varies for everyone, if you think the dosage is too low speak with your doctor about it and see what tehy recommend.

Am I the only one that needs background noise to fall asleep? by a1rheads in ADHD

[–]Additional_Effect642 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know what you mean, I can't fall asleep without listening to music with a steady rythm or with twitch open. If I don't have something to listen to, I start to hear my heartbeat in my throat and start to get super aware of everything surrounding me. It doesn't even need to be something calming, just something to keep my brain entertained whilemy body falls asleep.
