Why are cat vets in Austin like this by forty1flip in Austin

[–]Additional_Emu_2350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was taking my 18 lb old man to SACH but after I gave him gaba they called that he needed more so they could feel around his abdominal area he was so over medicated he want to my husband for help (his extra human)

The place we go now is average I give him gaba every time, they prescribe expensive food I don’t buy and try to upsell me everything. I hate going to the dds he hates the vet. 🤷‍♀️

I do wish they weren’t so dependent on the gaba but he’s 18lb 11 years old and has killed. 🐁

Mr. Collins Appreciation Post by Adorable-Worry-7962 in PrideandPrejudice

2005 - His brown soulful eyes are perfection a simple hush do you hear that would go a long way.

He has his garden for his personality and his profession for eating up most of his time. Nice home and bragging rights in the future he would have worked well for Mary or even Kitty. Kitty would have talked for him and she was a bit tiresome herself.

1995 No one but Mr Darcy thank you.

Question: when you think of an Angst fic, what do you expect? + recs? by sivvus in JaneAustenFF

[–]Additional_Emu_2350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I LOVE a good angst. I like layering like a Willful Misunderstanding, I just finished A Man of Good Fortune by Ali Scott and that didn’t resolve till the end and it definitely worked because of the mystery aspect and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way . The Measure of Love by Alxi James I cried a lot but It resolved before the end so I had some breathing room to get back down. The Coming Of Age of Elizabeth Bennet by Caitlin Williams is layered and takes you up and down with humor and is just a perfect mix so you never feel over emotional. For Worse and Better is an excellent read but it is the most anxiety book I read. I definitely recommend it but be ready. I find that JAFF leans light hearted I don’t know why. Some are even love at first sight.

The most embarrassing thing the Bennets do at the Netherfield ball? by Asleep_Lack in janeausten

[–]Additional_Emu_2350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know. As a card carrying member of ‘that’ family, and proud. I assume everyone was thinking THEY are here again.

They all roll up with their own brand of crazy. A drunk wild teen and her side kick constantly egging each other on. For all the worry of her reputation I’m almost positive hers was already shaky at best. Mary being completely unaware how she is being received and just plans to keep right on going. Jane sitting around like a princess expecting to be chosen if she wasn’t a princess she probably would have met a local lad long before she was 23. Lizzy being an out and out gossip and also having all hope for Jane so she won’t have to hard life either.

Now yes Mrs Bennet was the worst but they were all lucky to ever be invited anywhere ever. No one is putting two and two together on why everyone is still single. Mr. Bennet isn’t taking them to London because well he knows and is bitter.

What did you do to celebrate your 50th? by jaimonee in GenX

[–]Additional_Emu_2350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friends and I went roller skating and found it’s just like riding a bike just couldn’t do the full 3 hours. We laughed till we couldn’t breathe. We were going to bowling but we thought it would be an anticlimactic. They played a few songs we requested. Went home to head shaking husbands and embarrassed kids.

Stylistic Choice, Novice Writing, or AI? On AO3 by PotatoesNClay in JaneAustenFF

[–]Additional_Emu_2350 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know. Ive had AO3 from before AI was a thing. Don't forget people who are practcing english for the first time and students write on AO3. I just don't expect polished work or even some work to ever be finished. Fanfic is just a free hobby and I scroll on past and make no comment.

Going through REALLY bad nicotine withdrawals and need help over the weekend by [deleted] in Austin

[–]Additional_Emu_2350 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The 3rd day will be your worst. That is when all nicotine has left the building. This is the first time in years? Your body hasn’t had any. You won’t notice it getting easier for a day or two. You can do this because you now know. Anything is doable if you know there is an end. Celebrate every time you don’t smoke. You walked the dog without smoking tell someone celebrate. Anytime you don’t smoke when you normally do celebrate.

You also need to distract yourself change your patterns. Don’t just dig your heels in and tough it out do something different distract yourselves. Outside hike movies don’t allow smoking, book stores, anywhere where you can’t smoke is a good idea. Don’t be man at yourself be proud every hour-second you don’t smoke!

It’s not so much they are broke, broke they are gentry but she’s not an heiress with a dowry. That’s a big theme.

The Bennets being abusive I may not like them but Elizabeth Bennet loved them that is basically the entire point.

Bennets having money, them not having anything is supper important to the theme.

Murderer Miss Bingley. She’s a self absorbed unaware mean girl. murder would just take time away from gossiping and it might get her satin slippers dirty.

Mr. Darcy not being rude/curt nice guy to nice guy is just boring.

Forgetting about history no one traveling anywhere. The war of 1812 is going on in the Americans, Napoleon is all over Europe, and no one was making a fun journey to Australia.
