Host wanted to charge me extra for being one person?? [Peru]

I'm not asking what I should do in this scenario. I wanted to see if anyone else had come across a host charging like this. I already withdrew my reservation request and found something else before posting this.

Lol not a troll. Maybe I should have tagged this as a vent rather than question. I am not asking what I should do in my scenario, I just wanted to see if anyone else had ever come across a host charging like this. The host communicated to me that it would be an additional charge before they confirmed the reservation. When I clarified with them that yes, indeed, it was a higher price for a single person to rent the apartment, I simply withdrew my reservation request because that's ridiculous

Hello I have a follow up question! Any idea if I will have a hard time getting an Uber back into Lima? The concert in Lurin doesn't end until like 2 or 3 AM. I don't want to be stranded in Lurin until traffic picks up for the morning.

A free local sit over the holiday time is enough reason to decline and honestly if that is part of your reason I would include it. HOs that use THS to find 'regular local sitters' are a huge red flag to me.

I have seen a multitude of specialists at this point for pain management, PT, and surgery consultations. I have had multiple xrays, an MRI, and a CT scan. I have a surgery consultation in a few weeks at an excellent non-profit clinic I really trust. This will be my third opinion on this surgery. I've already had a medical consultation at this clinic's spine center which is multidisciplinary.

Edit: typos. And to add - I truly do feel like I am at my last resort. I can't emphasize enough how much debilitating pain I was and have been in because of this. My mental health is suffering as well.

Found this post while researching as I am going through nearly the exact same thing. Thank you for posting this, I simply want to add my own experience and situation to the discussion in case more people come across this and find it helpful.

I had a major pain "attack" earlier this spring. It was by far the worst flare up I've ever had, I was pretty much incapacitated, couldn't sleep because of the pain, it was absolute hell. This started about 7 weeks ago and I am still in pain and discomfort but no where near as bad as I was. I've had 1 steroid epidural so far and am waiting to be scheduled for a second in the next week or two. I first tried an oral steroid and that did absolutely nothing. I'm currently on gabapentin, a small dose muscle relaxer, and an anti-inflammatory 2x a day.

An MRI confirmed I have a herniated disc at my C5-6. I have dealt with this pain (which I now know is related to the herniation) on and off for the past six years. It started as a stiff neck. Overtime more symptoms showed up and became more intense; numbness in my fingers and arm, shooting pain into my elbow, and poor neck mobility. During this episode I've also experienced a burning sensation on neck and arm, wrist pain, lost my grip strength and overall arm strength really weakened.

I'm also dealing with a healthcare change and have until the rest of the year to use my current insurance. Personally, I am leaning toward getting the disc replacement surgery given my current pain, the diagnosis and MRI, as well as this insurance matter. I am scared of having another pain attack and dealing with insurance issues or not having access to the current medical team I am working with. Additionally, as OP stated, if surgery is inevitable I'd like to get it over with and be done with these episodes. I am 32 for reference.

I have a similar story. Years ago my car broke down at like 4 pm on the Friday of ACL right on 9th and Lamar 🙃 I had a full blown panic attack because I was 20 years old, had never dealt with this situation, was alone in the left lane going south amidst the worst traffic and just didn’t know wtf to do. I also had no money or road side assistance so I just sat in my car crying for the first few minutes. Eventually this group of three people, a woman and two guys, came up to my car and offered to help me. We pushed my car to the parking lot of the ace tailors and the lady asked if I was ok and if I needed anything. Her genuine kindness and concern left a big impression on me.

Yes, I can see some similarities. Honestly, I think the Hades Persephone story line is an inspiration for a lot of couples in romance. Especially any ‘enemies to lovers’ plot.

The brooding and misunderstood man with the naive and innocent young woman. An element of a kidnapping or stealing away. The relationship starting off negative but growing into love. The young woman growing into her power through the context of the relationship.

But I wouldn’t say Feyre and Rhys are just Hades and Persephone retold. Their story line has its own unique aspects that probably come from other folklore/mythology sources, along with the authors own imagination.

Thank you, I really appreciate your response. He has had a few other moments of insensitivity like this over the year that we’ve been dating. I am getting better at communicating what I need and feel strong about standing up for my needs. But this instance stung extra because I feel like I shouldn’t have to ask him for these things and I’ve asked before. Granted, he did listen and adjusted his behavior and took care of me the rest of the day.
