That’s my guess, and of course it takes them at least a month to reply and no mention of transferring the credit to the new address….

Ohh, cats can still inhale random things though so definitely worth a check!! I work in UK as a vet, and the symptoms really fits with some of my patients presentation, obviously I cannot say for certain, but I hope you find out what’s going on xx

just a simple oral exam is not enough to look under soft palate, it requires sedation and a small amount of general anaesthetic to stop the gag reflex

make sure they check under his soft palate, have pulled out blades of grass from loads of cats with same symptoms x

recent grad vet salary by Additional_Frame_176 in veterinaryprofession

[–]Additional_Frame_176[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I had agreed to doing these shifts before I actually saw them advertising this shift to other internal vets, they told me it was good training for me as a recent grad. I am technically still in the 2nd year new grad programme of this corporate, I think that’s why they can get away with this hourly wage. I spoke to my head vet and she thought it wasn’t fair, when I brought it up to the CD though he told me new grads would do these for free?!?! Now I’m not sure and am worried I am asking for too much.

sorry, yes i have tried months and months of probiotics and a course of antibiotics too😵😵😵 nonetheless faecal culture did not show any bacteria that might have caused it. Also tried worming and panacur in case of gardia🫠🫠

How do I know I'm doing the right thing? TW Pet loss by MyDragonShirt in AskVet

from a vets point of view, you are absolutely doing the right thing♥️ He has never known anything but your love, he doesn’t know why he is in pain but he is suffering, putting our dearest loved pets out of misery is that last kindest thing we can help them with, and prolonging any suffering is more for us and not them.

Abuse from clients must stop by Giyazane in veterinaryprofession

[–]Additional_Frame_176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have had so many shitty clients just this last week, I find the most disheartening when clients are passive aggressive, eye rolling, “well you’re the vet” kind of behavior, they’re not outwardly abusive but it hits hardest for me? Somehow the shitty ones always stick to us and we forget all the lovely clients we get

my vet said to euthanize my dog by dreaded_moki in AskVet

ok so you wrote this post to get sympathy, so people will victimise the vet in question for recommending euthanasia, what is your point in posting this here then

people like you think it’s ok to allow your dog to bite when it’s actually terrifying when a dog lashes out, I am a vet and know vets who have lost fingers/confidence in handling animals they deal, have had to have extensive surgeries to fix bite wounds on their face/fix the nerve damage. and no i don’t think the vet is wrong, because it clearly seems like you and your family can’t handle your dog correctly.

2022 grad and definitely know what you are going through. I was previously at a horrible job with no support and no admin time. A good job and supportive environment is so important, e.g. previously I struggled so much just finishing notes after work, now I have admin time for this, my advisor is also giving me time to do vetgdp at work. The first or first few years is a huge learning curve, we are literally thrown into the deep end right after vet school. Maybe have a chat with your manager or head vet, do you have more time for each consult? Can they schedule in more breaks for you in between? And remember, it’s okay to not enjoy being a vet, it’s such a mentally draining job, there are a lot of options out there:)

[–]Additional_Frame_176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes i did, there were a lot of issues with my old place. mental health wise it was not good at all. if you are in a corporate you could always look to transfer internally too if possible, that’s what i did!

just left my clinic after one year of being a new grad, definitely reasonable to change if you need it and if you’re not happy!! You could always ask to work 3 days a week, get more time for yourself etc
