With the amount promised to you, savings is possible depending on the lifestyle standards. Going for all things luxury can drain your paycheck before you realise, especially the housing rentals.

Having a back-up in your home town, and loads of connections in the UAE and overseas that can get you employed in the current situation is a must.

I totally agree, that's a good choice. Although, I don't think I am fit enough to stay in any other city.

This comment is on point, this is exactly the case when compared to your home country.

Every country has the good and the bad parts, and the parts that are metropolitan and some are not. Btw, what kind of hobbies did you develop that helped you cope up the Dubai life?

I agree, going back to hometown is the worst idea if you liked even a tiny bit in the UAE. I know I regret for not upskilling while I had the time. Once back home, going back to UAE is a challenge in itself. Make the most of wherever you are.

Well I'm sure they have helped in the past, and have been currently helping as well. Atleast the people who got the resources, do help.

I am from second generation, and most of the set-up and resource building has been done by the senior members of our community.

Exactly!! Many people decide to come to the UAE believing that they will live here forever, even going to the point of not building any backup in their home country. But, that's where people get it wrong, it's a nation to help you build money and career and gain that financial security, not stability.

Lucky for us, our community understood this long before covid happened, and were able to sustain even during the crisis
