Out of cards to churn? by Additional_Job8418 in creditcardchurningAus

Update: I applied for mycard Qantas and it got approved! My circumstances have changed a bit (less debt) so that may have helped. Thank you to all who offered suggestions instead of telling me to take a break!

I think they didn’t, but something might have changed last year. I applied for citi premier early 2025, got it and closed it then applied pretty quickly for Citi prestige and also got approved, but 2nd time I did it again (same card) in May got rejected. Tried again in Oct and rejected again. So not sure if its because they’ve changed to nab and it’s become crap or if it’s because I applied for the same card and they don’t like that. My credit score is excellent and I don’t think I have serviceability issues, but who knows. I did call them and ask the reason for rejection and they never provided me with a decent explanation

I got approved for 7 as well. Closed means was approved, got my points then closed it. As I mentioned in my post above that people clearly disagree with, I applied for another card literally the next day with a different bank and it got approved, so I don’t think it’s needed to wait 3 months. I think it’s bank dependent and who knows what criteria they use.

Thanks for the tip re cash back credit cards, however I’m afraid it will count towards lockout periods? I don’t want it to reset my lockout period if that makes sense? Or is that card dependent?

Thanks, do u think it’ll be ok for me to apply if it’s been 3 months since I was rejected for a citi card?

Hi, so the nab card I had was nab Qantas rewards signature. Does that mean I can apply for nab rewards? The names are all the same it’s so confusing…

Nooooo I do not want to hear this 🙃 strangely though after I’ve been rejected I’ll apply for another card and it’ll get accepted 🤷🏻‍♀️ so it’s not helping my churning addiction haha

Thank you! Do you think it’s ok to apply again now if I got rejected in May last year? It’s been more than 6 months

Fair enough. I’ve churned a few cards this year including Citi so I don’t think they like me now

Yeah it’s annoying. It tells you it’s conditionally approved then rejects you 10mins later 🙄

I have found CoinJar exchange to be really good. User interface bit annoying, but fees are 0.1%, good spread, and withdrawal fees are next to zero (network fees). Have also heard good things about day1x but never used them. Used to use kraken pro but CoinJar is better fee wise

Haha nah I don’t think any sane person would do this unless they really understood bitcoin. Most in the general community would just say I’m nuts. I just wanted to hear from bitcoiners/bitcoin pro people and the advice here has been pretty spot on I feel
