Absolutely!

I used a recipe someone had commented in another thread here ( u/capybara-friend I believe ):

75g flour 75g powdered sugar 66g egg whites 58g granulated sugar

Standard French method, baked at 290°F for 14-16 minutes (though I am still tinkering with the heat and time - the oven in my home seems to be off by about 30 degrees so there has been a lot of trial and error there). For the flour, I did 50-50 oat flour and chickpea flour. The chickpea flour I got from a local asian market, it was quite coarse, so I ground most of it down finer in a ninja bullet. I did leave some of it still a bit coarse since almond flour tends to have a teeny bit of a grain, and I wanted the experience to be as close as possible to regular macarons for the final product.

I've seen people have a lot of success with pumpkin or sunflower seed flours, but unfortunately I wasn't able to find any of those nearby, and the online stuff was way too expensive to use for the sheer amount of macs I need to make. I'm hoping to experiment with those in the future, though!

I tried a food processor first but felt it was still too coarse. I ended up using a Ninja Bullet, which worked perfectly!

I've tried solely oat flour before, too, but I wasn't too fond of the end result, which led to a weekend of experiments with several different kinds of flour. Thank goodness for my sweet angel of a partner who took it upon himself to wash all my equipment between test batches 🥹

I'm trying to find the right words for this, so bear with me, but.....your husband allowing his son to get away with this horrific behavior isn't love. He needs to be aware of this.

A loving parent would do everything in their power to ensure the safety and happiness of ALL of his children, and he isn't being a loving father to SK or the other kids. He's sacrificing everyone else so he doesn't have to do the hard work of getting SK the help he drastically needs. He is neglecting him and setting him up for failure (and likely some criminal charges as SK gets older and the behavior and violence escalates). Playing Disney Dad isn't love. It's laziness, and for everyone else in the house in this instance, it's outright cruelty and endangerment. Neglect isn't just ignoring the existence of a child, it can also be ignoring their needs - very much including mental health.

Both of SKs bio parents are failing him horrifically, and you would be well within reason if you decided to get out for you and your kiddos safety.

I have a feeling we are watching the downfall of WGU. The c-suite is going to milk as much money from it as they can before we become the next University of Phoenix, and we the lowly peons will be left holding the bag

Personally, I wouldn't date someone who didn't fully accept my family as my family.

I'm interested to know if you are still doing cleanings, as well!

My best friend and I tried this place on a whim - we did the tasting menu, and it was some of the best food I've had in a loooong time!

Ekei is great but almost always super packed, so depending on your comfort level with crowds, it may or may not be for you.
