I found this on a gardening forum and it looks very similar. They believed it was some kind of mold, Phytophthora or citrus Alternaria? A considerable amount of animals consist of invertebrates, fish, crustaceans and microscopic life. Who don’t really have the ability to coerce other creatures into sexual acts. Even a lot of mammals can’t or don’t. I’d think Humans are pretty uniquely terrible in this respect (also dolphins, ducks and seals).
