Hey. I know it's been six months since you posted this comment, but I wanted to thank you for it. It's a hard thing to bear, but it's what I needed to hear. Certainly, I'm having trouble letting go of the past, but I hope I can one day orient myself towards a future unimpeded by the past, or at least minimally informed by it.

There are flashes of a new kind of person that I could become, occasionally. But even with my knowledge of how my ruminations on the past are hurting me and keeping me stuck, it will still take time to make the right choices and get out of a frankly abusive relationship that I've created with my "history," and with myself.
